I'm confused... I thought the AAP was suppose to have an interface similar to the XEDE. How are you going to change different maps for the dp's and fmic then?

NP, however I think using products from AA or Dinan is far away from being a guinea pig .

The AA Active Processor is no XEDE. I will see what kind of SW AA uses to upload maps once they are available.

I didn't mean to say the XEDE is like the AA because the AA is made with the help of AEM and not some company out of Australia(Chiptorque sp?), but I thought the software was going to be very similar to it. And no software on release? At least for logging purposes. You have an estimate availability?

^ I got no SW with the AA Active Processor and did not ask for it. Currently I use my boost- and oil-temp gauges only to monitor what's going on. I have a fancy Innovate Motorsports data logging system but I did not install it yet.

Man I also got my AA Processor up and running but ran into way too many obstacles on the way. All related to my inexperience or lack of tools.

The Install - Could not get the Valet switch installed and the trunk would not open after install was completed. The switch, I could not find my way to the engine bay with a hanger. This will be addressed by my mechanic next week. The latter had me for some time until a SA from South Motors BMW suggested I try and jump-start the car, powering the system and enabling the trunk release. BTW, the car has confort access but no sky bag or split folds. So keep this in mind when installing yours.

The Test - I miss my lil'ol' 335...This thing turned out a monster now! It will no be before long I place the order for the DTC display light; it keeps blinking from standstill to well into 2nd gear. My car only has the BMS drop in so go figure!

Would likr to thank all the guys from AA for the grea service and for a great product, keep the R&D for e90's up!

Use your key of the car to open the trunk when the battery inside is disconnected.

Why? If their hardware is what its supposed to be... I would think it would be a big thing to try to move away from that.

Also what are if any future plans for the new processor? Any kind of launch control? I know some of the AES units have it.

Eugen, another thanks for your efforts. Just curious, and forgive me if you've explained this already in another post, did you consider Dinan instead of the AA, and if so, why not? Just curious at how you arrived at your decision vs. Dinan.

Grazie!

Dinan is not available in Europe, this is the main reason. A second reason is that Dinan voids the warranty when you use additional non-Dinan performance tuning parts and I will install the Spearco FMIC and RISS DP's soon.

I think a good, affordable ECU flash for the 335i is still missing ( except Dinan ). E.g. the Noelle flash is around US$ 4k. As soon as the Jim Conforti ECU flash will be available, it will be worth a try, given that the flash will provide Dinan-like or better numbers. However, I have been informed that the JC flash will need some more time until it will be available, thus JC has to do some important other projects in advance. So I expect to see this product in 6-12 months.

The AA Active Processor seems to be very well positioned for customers who don't want to compromise in quality and reliability. Better a little less power than sporadic limp modes or other hassles and the most fast kid on the block .

Update - installing the AA SLD and testing

The AA Active Processor ( 2nd day ) behaves great. Power distribution is smooth like silk and pretty strong. No issues, of course.

The tune feels noticeable stronger than the JB2H, which is a very good ECU tuning as well. Tomorrow morning I will install the AA SLD ( speed limiter defeat ) and drive to the German Autobahn, to perform some load and faster speed testing. I'll report back tomorrow evening .

Cheers,
Eugen
