That piece o'shat g8 isn't competition for me...besides it's a plastic laden piece of junk that will have 50 rattles in 6 months. Pontiac doesn't know how to build automobiles...you would think they did, but they don't.

You do know that this is a Holden Commodore don't you? Or am I assuming you have enough intellect to tell the difference?
"The Holden Commodore is an automobile produced by the Holden division of General Motors (GM) in Australia, and formerly in New Zealand. In the late 1970s, Holden established proposals to replace the long-serving Kingswood nameplate with an all-new smaller model. Holden looked to Opel (another GM subsidiary) for inspiration, and based the Commodore on the Opel Rekord." "The Opel Rekord is an executive car from the German automaker Opel" Stick THAT in your pipe and smoke it |

3 series is entry segment car, and g8 is top of the models of pontiac.
si you know why people surround around bmw because of all those m3z and m5z but imagine adding a turbo to that 6 liter v8 |

auto tranny, 361hp and 385 lb–ft hauling 3995 pounds running 13.1 with a tune?
i don't believe it. Any N/A tune will give 5whp max. Downpipes and catback with a tune is another story. was he spraying? and wtf is with the "new driver" "new driver", is that Pontiac's Chief of Marketing?

I think Pontiac did a good job bringing the G8 to the US. Nice car, and I hope GM does well -- but there are simply so many reasons to buy a BMW beyond performance. I find it hard (impossible?) to believe that anyone would choose the 3 series based just off it's "bang for the buck" in performance, or "raw performance" numbers.
Don't get me wrong, I love my car -- and even after a year and a half would take it over the competition again -- but it is not the fastest or best handling car on the block. Fast and good handling enough, when added with other BMW traits (looks, reputation, personal preference, etc) is a clear winner. And I doubt very much that there are too many cross-over buyers. Also why the 325 won Car and Drivers latest comparison, even though it was one of the (if not the very) slowest cars in the test. _Scott |

Considering this car is a re-badged Holden Commodore from Australia... you will soon see that these cars are not even close to the quality of BMW - sure they are fast... but believe me there is more to a car than straight line speed.
Cheers Matt
