Strange , Im low . no wheel gap anywhere. Never got an alingment ( althought i know i should ) 10k miles winters and summers no uneven tyre wear to be found .
I switched wheels last week and was kinda suprised .

yah, i'm not low (i've adjusted to stock/sport height), got an alignment.. no uneven tire wear but i'm down to wear bars.

if it's even wear, doesn't it mean the alignment is fine? what can cause excessive wear but even? (other than burnouts and the like)...

Yeah my tires are wearing down in like 1k Km hes adjusted the camber to -.5/-1 ( which is the max he can do with the stock arms, he says he dialed down the toe to what it should be. im suspecting TOE is the problem from what im seeing everywhere, so subframe bushings need to be changed? could it possibly the bushings on the control arms themselves?

^ Camber does not wear tires... TOE absolutely wears tires out quick! That said, they are tied together, if you lower the car, it lily your toe will will be grossly out of spec causing rapid tire wear. Best of luck to you guys, I highly recommend finding a taller rear spring, which is pretty simple. Most of the aftermarket manufactures will make a spring that fits correctly that will allow you to properly set your ride height.

caster does not wear tires

camber does in time but tie will wipe tires out...

Ended up ordering longer springs today. Bought 550lbs/in spring rate and 12 inches long compared to what the seller said were the stock ones (10") . Spoke to my mechanic who did the alignment, he aligned to 0 toe, which i saw online is bad for our cars. Too used to doing alignments for race cars would do that to you. though him doing it at 0 was better than what it was when i installed the rear coilovers.

that may be too long...

i went with 12 kgf/mm (672 lb/inch) springs at 10", and the stiffer spring even with stock length spring brought the car up to stock height around the middle of the height adjustment range.

so if you went 12".. you may be jacked up pretty high. not sure if anyone else could chime in who would know better..

I put a set of those crappy coilovers on my D last year as a stopgap, and never had a clearance problem at front or rear. M3 control arms up front, with stock rear parts. Alignment specs up front are for the M3, with stock E90 settings for the rear. It is low, but I can comfortably carry four passengers or Rosie O'Donnell's lunch without scraping. A minor caveat would be to ensure that you locktite the nuts. My rear ones loosened up and caused all kinds of racket after a bunch of miles, but caused no damage. Running stock size 18" staggered wheels and tires(225/40 and 255/35) on factory sport suspension car. I'd say you have something else going on besides the coilovers, or aftermarket wheels with different offsets?

its not a clearance issue, its the fact the rear springs wont go higher than 1 finger gap in the rear. i thought it was because of the camper the tires were wearing so quickly but everyone keeps saying its the toe so thats what ill be looking into. i bought qa1 springs so i could raise the rear if need be.

Lowering the car will change the camber and toe. Toe will eat things up quickly.

So update.. I just had my alignment checked and toe and camber weren't bad.. alignment isn't the reason for my excessively worn tires. Maybe just a bad batch of tire? They are conti dw.. I thought they were good with good treadlife. Fronts are fine.

yeah an alignment was done but he set it to 0deg toe, but wasnt aware that these cars NEED toe

What do you mean by weren't bad? Can you post the before and after numbers?

If you fronts are fine and your rears are worn... it seems the rear alignment had something to do with it, no? Have you checked your bushings?

top is front, bottom is rear

alignment guys said it was a little off and wouldn't result in any treadlife issues. probably got knocked out of alignment by a pothole since i had my alignment done very recently.
