My RPM bounces up and down between 800-1,200 during some starts. It only last for about 15 seconds or so and only happens on and off. Hmmm... I wonder what's going on with our cars?

I've had the same problem with an older V2 map as well. Once I have updated to V2.1 and the problem has not resurfaced.

Happened to my stock E92 this last weekend. 12k miles, April 2007 build date.
Just stalled at a stoplight - like the car turned narcoleptic for a second. No codes; I am not concerned till it happens again...

When I started my engine today, my RPMs started bouncing up and down from 800-1,200 RPM for at least a minute. Usually, it only last about 15 seconds. This shit is so... annoying. Anybody else having this problem? Do you think it's bad fuel?

Should I just take it into the dealer and let them know? How can I tell if it's really a bad sparkplug?
Thanks!

I don't think they can/will do anything without a code being thrown. If you can reproduce the incident for your SA, then maybe he can get them changed or the car looked at.

When 2 spark plugs went bad I had to wait 2 weeks before going into the dealer. My car had a code for severe engine knock. Once the car runs like total crap, don't wait too long to take it in b/c it is bad for the motor.

Same problem here. I had v2 for a few weeks and then had my fuel pump replaced . The fuel pump was acting up for awhile, so I'm not blaming the v2. When they installed the new FP they upgraded the ECU. The day I picked up my car, my car stalled at a stoplight. I chalked that up to maybe the new fuel pump but I kept my eyes out for it again. It happened to me just the other day for the second time which is probably approx. 3 months after the ECU upgrade. What I have noticed is that with the new ECU progman, my car's been idling much rougher at the stop lights as well as in the mornings. IMO, it's related to the new ECU progmans more than the v2.

Is there anything I can do myself to test if it's really the sparkplugs that are bad?
