When I had my engine out for replacement, my initial thoughts regarding that squish was like WTF! But when you have a good look at it, the top and bottom indentations are offset and the the pipe is wider in the other plane to help compensate. I also noted that the factory power ratings for RHD and LHD were the same (maybe this is one of the reasons these engines are relatively mildly tuned so as not for these things to be a factor?). So the factory outlet went back in ;-) It'd be good to see the relative flow rates though, LHD to RHD.
