Most German Police depts would rather buy several police cars rather than ONE M5 Police car. Most "normal" M5's sell for around ~140K euros. Add in 35% for a police model and it doesn't make sense for small police depts over here. Plus the fuel and insurance and higher service required for a ///M model. Most Polizei cars are diesels over here. Some are quite quick, but most are diesels.

I found a few more pics of that F10 M5 from a few years back a the BMW Welt...

Nice thread, especially given the current change of exterior colour towards the normal German blue instead of the Bavarian green ;-).

I don't think however that police departments decide what car to get and whether an M5 would be "cool". This surely is centrally organized and hopefully with strong focus on efficiency of the tax payers money. I would not be too happy if they get M5s with my payments...

Here in Bavaria... they Polizei are "testing" the new blue and white color scheme cars and uniforms. The "test" will run for the next two years.

Personally I prefer the old Green & White cars/uniforms of the Bavarian Polizei.

The Polizei also have a new siren when in traffic or to get driver's attention...

They also are testing the American style police sirens. Too many Germans are not responding/reacting to the traditional German polizei two tone horns, so now we also get American sirens. lol

Very rare, this Belgian town's FD uses a US fire engine, followed by a Mercedes truck.

The E36 M3 Polizei is cool. I have its VIN somewhere, but can't find it.

That new siren they test is weird. I like the (US) priority yelp/wail.
