Like mentioned, you bump the starter until you see the valve is closed. When taking off the manifold, some valves will already be closed. You would clean those first, then bump the starter to close the other ones. I have a video on YouTube showing how to use the starter trigger switch if you are unsure of how it goes. Just search N54 starter switch or something along those lines. I use the same username
