Does anyone know what version CIC firmware is needed (as well as how to check it) to allow for non-fsc BMW Apps? Can this be upgraded or downgraded accordingly?

Also, should I recode my VIN into the combox and CIC or leave the donor VIN...benefits of each?
About First question answer details to have without Fsc:
Internet and Bmw online need CIC.c13 version and for combox c.mediar05 one.
About BMW Apps it is CIC.C16

Above needs FSC and is 800€.

BUT: today downgrade to V41 isn't mandatory as a patch is on the air, allowing all what you want with the last upgrade (mandatory to patch right place).

@Aus335iguy
You have the answer: upgrade to V41 then scripting to create on start the 9C in /mnt/HBpersistence/009C0001.swt or to Patch (how is in the FA)
According what you say it seems that this is the Combox version which allows the rights.
Factory fitted Mulf2 but I 'm just waiting for a Combox to do that and as you my CiC is C08, so thanks, will try next week with some spare time and report.

Oh you mean no one wants to share their ICOM unit ... I think not a lot of people have them. I like wine ...

I got super busy with work and was only able to complete about half of it...mostly just the CIC stuff. The Combox retrofit is much more in depth and has quite a few variables that I had to hash out. That being said, if you're looking to do this retrofit, send me a PM and I can send you what I have done, but I dont really have a time frame for when the entire thing will be finished yet...

There isn't that much messed up info out there. People are just crossing chassis and things vary there. I found some pdf's online with pinouts and they worked for me. Only thing I needed help with was apps. One thing in this thread that was wrong.....blue and black USB ports are the same excluding apps, 6nr doesn't care which you use. The snap in adapter is pretty much nothing more than the iPhone composite cable. I utilize apps 100% but I do not have the snap in adapter. I wired in the iPhone composite cable which had RCA's. Plug audios into 1/8" aux for sound and make up an rca video to feed FBas on CIC. BPM had to get my apps running though. Never figured that one out.

I don't have the documents anymore but it would take 2 seconds to search.....combox pinouts PDF.

Easiest way is to read your CIC with NCS, and it will show you. CIC.C1A is the latest, as of DATEN v60 (and has been for a while).

You're on CIC.C10, which is pretty old. I'm not quite sure which DATEN that was released in though.

I have C1A but my firmware is 2011.
I know there is a 2012 firmware, but I'm not sure if it's only for F series vehicles.

Any way to get 2012 firmware onto my M3? I have the pro cable capable of flashing it, just no firmware. WinKFP shows no update available.

The 2011 firmware has invalid SSL Certificate Authority certificates, making the Internet Browser useless for anything with HTTPS. Also, I want to make sure I'm on the latest, to attempt RTTI activation.
