I installed a combox into my retrofitted CIC but I'm having the *no gongs* *no audio* *etc* issues. I made my own harness and my car only had a TCU...no Mulf2 so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

No audio generally points to an incomplete MOST loop. Do you see a red light in either of the fibres coming in to the COMBOX?
One should be lit. Other than that, post up your CIC and COmbox TRC files here for analysis. I did mine a while ago but i can share mine if i have them and you can compare

Oh and pin 1, 2 or both for power?

It is unnecessary to migrate both power from MULF & TCU. (leave the smaller wire in the pin frame)

If it's combox telematics I believe all you need is power to pin 2.

edmfperez since you retrofitted CIC, you must check CIC trc if it has correct audio configuration. ie Hifi,Top-Hifi,individual etc. This along with what @aus335iguy said should get you sorted.

I did pin 17/18 and 1/2 for power, respectively. Guides were misleading as some said to split power from one pin on the TCU side to two pins on the COMBOX side.

I just did a read through NCS...got an error telling me that my "Control Unit is not responding" when I select "Read ECU" for the MEDIA module.

Does anyone have any tips on how to proceed?

Just tried something new...I disconnected the Fiber Optic MOST bus from the COMBOX and plugged in a termination loop. Boom, sound is back, so it seems like my wiring is iffy.

No, it means that the combox is not passing the signal through. It could be wiring and it could be a faulty combox.

I wired my combox in the way you mentioned Power split between pin 1 and 2.

Lo and behold the 1/2 re-pin WORKED! The sound is back so all I have to do now is code the MEDIA module through NCS and I'm Gucci. Thanks, guys!

Weird thing I’m having is if I split 1/2 it blows the fuse for my media/telematics but if I replace the fuse and put it on pin 2 for media it works fine. Combox is fine as I had it in my other car with pin 1 / 2 separate just fine.

But my issue is pairing keeps dropping my phone list after a few hours

No I still need to run usb to combox to run the update but I will keep this thread tagged

Update for anyone else that ran into my issue,

If it deletes from after a few hours, the VO didn’t save on the combox just resend the blank man file to combox and that fixes that issue.

For it resetting/restarting, it was an android doing that and turn off messages from the phone Bluetooth.

Was talking to another guy with the same issue and that had also fixed his issue as well.
