Are there any problems flashing the ZF modules, or is it just the GM? I just got an E60 that needs updated. |

So I ended up ordering a BimmerGeeks cable to use on my E60 and I went ahead and gave this a try with it. Flash went fine with the Pro Cable, but I read the error memory afterwards and I'm getting CDB4 - Gear Data 3 on the DME. It comes back as soon as the ignition is on, and also happens while driving. There's no errors on the dash but the code is in memory.
I'm not sure if I should be concerned about it. It seems to drive fine but that error keeps coming up in memory. I got it ~7 times driving around the block. I'm wondering if it's because I didn't also update the DME and now they're miscommunicating. I'm guessing it's not recommended to flash the DME over D-CAN. (Especially since I don't have a power supply. How long does the DME flash take using the Pro Cable?) I updated to ZUSB number 7578263 that 808AWD325xi suggested by selecting it with Choose ZUSB. That same number was also recommended as the upgrade by the ECU Finder tool, but I'm still wondering about the fact that the HW number was different for that firmware - 7576679 as opposed to 7572198 for mine. ZUSB number 7572767 seems to have my HW number so I'm thinking about reverting back to that one to see if the error goes away. Can anyone comment on whether that one should be fine for my vehicle? EDIT: Actually, it looks like all of the 757276X have my HW number. 808AWD325xi mentioned before that 7572761 was for the 323i...is it possible that I have a different transmission and actually should be using that software? It's an N51 if it makes a difference. Googling my HW number seems to show that it was used in both the 323i and the 328i. Or, if not, the E83 daten files seem to have the necessary files for going back to 7572759. There's an entry in the DAT file and a corresponding 0pa and 0da. I already have the 0pa but don't have A7572760.0da. I don't think there should be any problems copying those over to the E89 daten and re-flashing my old version, since the firmware number is all that should matter. Correct? Quick Question.
I open winKFP ,press F1,again F1 ,enter the EGS ZUSB. Assembly id. num is diffrent from Hardware num. Assembly no. is :7587965 Hardware is: 7563325 The question is,if i update this ecu, there will be newer version? I ask this because in Bmw Coding Tools, when i check ECU update,it says there is no update. i m confused now,do i need the update,or its final version. |
