What are you using to import your datens?

If it's not BMW Coding Tool then use BMW Coding Tool.

If you are using BMW Coding Tool then download some new datens.

Fixed it, not entirely sure how but I downloaded another ncs version, and re imported the datens then went back to the old version and it worked fine.

My next problem is I had a TCU with bluetooth, but the new combox I have the connectors for this i cant get both in due to the plugs. how to make that fit?

Also, i have added the vo codes to cas and nfrm but I cant seem to get bluetooth working. Any ideas?

You have to take a sharpe blade of some sort and slice off the small plastic fun on the Bluetooth antenna connector on the combox I think it's bottom left. Look at your old TCU, I guess it only has 2 of these fins.

What exactly have you coded. Be specific.

I would have to cut more than just that to get the connector to get on.

I did the following VO coding on CAS and NFRM:

change build date to #0311
removed $612 $616 $633 and $639
added $614, $615, $644, $6AL, $6VC, $6FL, $6NF, $6NR, $7SP

But think I need to write to MEDIA too? But I am new to this so any guidance would be good.

In which case you'll need to build an adapter. Probably you can buy one. I've seen them advertised.

Have you coded your CIC to your default VO now that you've updated your VO? You need to let the CIC know you've installed a combox by coding it to default.

Did you code MEDIA to default as well, in the same way?

I think you'll still a little confused.

The CAS and FRM stuff is to do with your VO (Vehicle Order also known as FA (German))

Your car has a list of options which makes up its 'DNA' if you will. This is your VO.

When you retrofit anything you should update the VO to reflect the changes. The VO is stored in CAS and FRM (or NFRM depending on version).

Once this is done, any module which relies on the new change of VO should be coded to the new VO default. This is done with an expert mode profile in NCSEXPERT and the job 'SG_CODERIEN' on an module you wish to revert to default.

In your case it would be:

- CIC
- MEDIA
