Can the tablet purchased with the tune be used to Load tunes into multiple cars in the future? Is it locked to one DME? My family has 3 N52 cars.

Hi,

The BPC flash loader is married to one vehicle at a time. Once it is paired it cannot be used on different cars. It can be unmarried but the car has to be put pack to stock in order to use it on on another vehicle. The tune is created for each individual vehicle and locked to the VIN.

Thank you,

because there's another group on the forum working on a 3 stage tune..... without a huge price tag or super special proprietary hardware that's locked to one VIN.

Thats great news. I didn't know that there was even competition. This was purely to offer incentive for those who wanted to get discounted pricing, and to boost our tune sales. We don't really care if anyone else has another tune, we're just offering our services for those who want them.

If you get it, start another thread to let us know that power it makes compared to ours for the money. Thanks!

... I will have a 3 stage intake installed just before I add the tune ... with that, should I expect results closer to the 330i tune?

Yes sir, it should be identical to the 330i power output with the Intake and tune.

Are you referring to project Hassmachine's and Terraphantm have been working on?

I'm pretty sure, they will only release a standard 328>330 or 325>330 tune at a low cost. This is due to the fact that it is essentially a BMW file/tune anyways. Any 330+ power output tune will have different terms. I'm sure they will clear up that confusion soon.

The tune you are referring to; if I understand it correctly ... will tune your 325/328 to a stock 330i; using the 330i's parameters (325/328 basically becomes a 330 with the 3 stage manifold). With that, at minimum, it will enable the 3-stage air intake to work properly ... they may squeeze a bit more out of the engine, but it will not be a proper "330i" tune like you will get with a BPC tune. Which in essence will get you the performance of a "tuned" 330i ... not a "stock" 330i.

(Another difference ... which may account for some of the "group" buyers: The BPC tune will also work on stock 325/328 intake manifolds [albeit with much different results]. The other tune is only for cars with 3-stage intake manifold swaps.

Okay since the "other" tune referenced is hassmaschine 's and my work, thought I'd chime in:

1) We're not "in competition" with BPC or any tuner. What we're releasing in the immediate future is a 130i/330i/530i flash - it's free with the goal of getting stock 130i/330i/530i power and driveability; nothing more or less. If anything, that software will serve as a better starting point for further tuning.

2) It absolutely *is* a proper 330i tune, and I think probably more comprehensive than anything else out there for the MSV80. We're changing almost 4000 bytes.

3) If/when we do get to paid products, the goal is still not to compete with BPC or anyone. Our goal is more to facilitate DIY tuning without requiring expensive or proprietary hardware/software. It will very much be a product that's geared towards relative experts who like to have full control over their cars.

Thank you for the clarification. Hope I didn't offend. I didn't mean to downplay your tune as not a true 325/328 to 330i tune ... I used the term "proper" meaning additional performance above and beyond that of a stock 330i.

Basically the gist of it. Except "low cost" in this case is free (+ a reliable cable since we don't want to risk bricking anything... though as of yesterday, I'm able to use the tricore bootmode, so bricks can be recovered now).

MSV70 will be a straight 330i flash less the powerclass change. MSV80 is a little more complicated, but still ultimately derived from BMW's work, which is the main reason we're not charging for it.

Thank you for the clarification, I think it's good to get the expectations cleared up before things get out of hand.

Hey Bob, 3 questions please:
1. Can you tune (like maybe faster shifting or remove torque limiters and so on) my slow AT slushbox (I beleive it's a GM tranny)? If not, that's ok, just asking
2. For us n51 guys - will this tune work too, will it be same gains as n52 or not?
3. If I come to you guys - will the dyno tune give better results in my case with n51?

Thanks!

What is the turnaround time to get the tune after emailing through the original image?

I emailed the file downloaded from my DME on Sunday and emailed it through right away. I still have not heard a response or heard of an ETA from BPC.

Also - it took just over an hour to download the file to the handheld device, and it is only 1.4MB in size. Is this normal?

By the way, I purchased the tune online last week, and just missed out on the group buy
