There are oil analysis results on this and other forums. I have never seen one past 10,000 miles that I would want in my car, but to each their own.

Good info. I'd like to see one from a turbo, I'll search around. That isn't really bad at all in comparison to the average auto and especially for 18,000 miles. Its not harming the engine at all, just mildly dirty.

Here is what I did.

5K self Mobil-1
10K self Mobil-1
15K self Mobil-1
20K Dealer
25K self Mobil-1
30K self Mobil-1
35K self Mobil-1
40K Dealer
and so on curently at 75K miles.

Also before someone asks my Dealer oil changes at 20K intervals are because of my gas milage my normal is 28-30 MPG. (90% highway)

BTW there is no valve ticking on my engine!!

Oh and on my E46 I changed it every 7500 miles and it curently has 150K miles and the engine still runs like new just the car is falling apart around it.
