Info on the bike

BMW k75 1985 it was last ran on 2011 so i have to refresh everything and get her back on to top shape, lucky me it was garage stored.

I wanted to buy a k100 but did not find one and found this great deal on the K75 so went with that.

Yes im kepping track of everything im doing this build on a budget of 2k thats with bike price in it.

So far bought and install

New fuel pump
New fuel filter
New fuel lines all around
New battery
New spark plugs
Change all fluids
_______________
All that came to $100 bucks

I pick this model cause the finish result looks amazing i will show you guys one that is finish and you can get an idea of what im going for

This one is from some buddys in Australia, they are bulding the seat and tail section for me.
I want one after seeing this. Unfortunately the cheapest k I found was £1750 & then the cost of doing the work. I did find this k1100 though up for £3500, is that to much money?

I had a poster of a K100RS on my wall as a kid ... but, strangely, I always appreciated the relative minimalism of the K75 more, and -- when I grew up and actually started riding -- wondered how a K-bike (water-cooled vs. air-cooled BMWs back in the late 70s/early 80s) would take to the streetfighter/cafe racer treatment. Back then (late 1990s-mid 2000s), K bikes were not very sought after and not a lot of conversions were done, at least in the U.S.

Now I know it's possible. That's freaking awesome. Man, I just wish my left knee could take the riding position!

Good luck, OP. Sub'd!

So tempted to start my own café racer project after this post. Quite a few K75 and K1100 on craigslist in my area, but I don't really have the extra cash to throw at one right now with multiple trips planned in the next few months.

Definitely plan on building one next year, thanks for the motivation. If yours end up looking anything like the one you posted it will be badass.

Great project looking forward to how it turns out. I love cafe racers. Recently picked up a Moto Guzzi V7 Racer (first cafe racer) and I am loving it and enjoying it more than crotch rockets or chopper/cruisers so far.

Figured I'd post here for the motorcycle folks. At the performance center today I saw some new "bagger" that's a new 2018 model than hasn't been released yet. I know nothing about bikes so sorry for lack of details, hopefully those who are interested know what I'm talking about. All I know is it has a 6 cyl engine and looked amazing. So if anyone is interested in that thing you will not be disappointed.

Nice progress!
I sold my 89 K100RS a few months back to a builder in Mexico. He cafed it. Will post pic tomorrow when not on phone.
Makes me wish I could have kept it and done the same thing.. but oh well, 14 years was a good ownership.. traded my 99 R1100S for Alpina turbos..

Nice. Where are you posting the updates for your build? Would love to see and learn as I am interested in doing the same.

Looks great. What all did you have to do to get the upside down forks to work?
