"Luxury or Speed" reminds me of the sign at my BMW mechanics' shop in Santa Monica:
"Fast, good, cheap - pick two." The one thing missing from the choices on this thread is "reliability."

I went to see the Velar today, it is a little more cramped than I expected. It is nice and unique, but somewhat expected more with form factor. I am thinking of waiting for the 2018 full size range rover. I also found out how fast volvos depreciate today, it is going to cost quite a bit to get out of this lease 9 months early. I am better off dealing with this car for a few more months. Last edited by dsad1; 08-26-2017 at 10:50 AM.. |

I currently drive a 2013 X5 and have less than 40k miles on it. I am considering replacing it with the new generation Porsche Cayenne.
I read somewhere that the official unveil is 29-Aug-17 and will go on sale later this year as a 2018 model. If you like the new Panamera interiors, I think it would be worth the wait. This is my personal opinion (no offense meant to anyone here), I like Porsche quality and build better than the RRs, the big 3 Germanz and Jeep. |

If you looking for speed, SUV is not the way to go, I settle for the Range and enjoy the lux while you still have good performance safe with the fact you far away from the ground.

I test drove the Velar last week while waiting for my FTypes first service. I was impressed by its interior and the double LCD screen. The ride was very well controlled for a SUV and the quality of material was a step up from the RR sport that my sister bought last month. It had a supercharged V6 producing 380hp and it's also very striking from outside. The rear cargo area wasn't big but usable. I'd take the Velar over any Jeep product any day of the week. Not in the same league IMO

With the right options the Velar's interior is pretty nice; not RR Sport nice but close. Chrysler has yet to put a nice interior in the entire history of the company.
To add to that, the Velar is way cooler than the Jeep. Land Rovers are special inside and out. they are among the most macho SUVs you can buy. It's a rolling status symbol. |

Velar for sure, not sure what the point is of a hypo SUV, you still cannot go around corners like a car so who cares if it has 8 billion torques?

The Trackhawk is way over priced. The difference between the SRT Grand and the Trackhawk will not even be usable on the street.
I'd buy the SRT Grand with a nice exhaust to be different. Every middle aged woman seems to be driving a white Range Rover here.
