As for your car getting dirtier quicker, it's because by waxing you build up a static charge when rubbing the microfiber towels and foam applicators against the paint. Order some Optimum Instant Detailer or FK-425 to use right after you wax. This won't prevent dust from settling, however they are anti-static so extra dust won't be attracted to the finish.

Thanks guys for all the info...i will be looking to do all this above pretty soon...can the anti static quick detailer be purchased in a regular store or does this have to be purchased online...And I am considering purchasing random orbital so I have less of a chance of screwing this up ....finally getting a house so I am pumped to have a garage to do all of this in

My car is monaco blue so it is dark and its hard to keep clean...I'm going to clay bar the car soon and start with a fresh slate, I've mainly just been washing it and waxed it once with some quick detailing wax in between..Thanks for any help guys
You can get a foam polishing/wax applicator bonnet for your random orbital at most any autoparts place. The foam pads are ever so slightly abrasive which is why it has a slight polishing effect that tends to buff out small imperfections. As stated it has worked fine for me and I have no swirls on my car after 3 years.
