Any company that has any of my personal information, whether a technology company, bank, retailer or government. They all suck at protecting data and some thrive on using / selling it. Its impossible to avoid them all unless you pay for things with paper cash you save in your mattress.

If you're thinking about this as an issue, really anything that is electronic and has some sort of operating code can be a potential personal security risk. In this day and age of connected devices, there's a certain level of trust you have to have with whatever software and hardware you use. Otherwise you might as well live life as an Amish.
Just because an app says it only accesses certain things on your cell phone doesn't mean it can't do other things. When you accept the permissions of what the app is going to do, doesn't mean behind the scenes the app is going to do something without your permission. The only way to know for sure is if you throw a packet sniffer on everything to see what is going in and out of the device or to run through the code of the software line by line. |

I guess it depends on how corrupt people in general can be with their powers. |

The fear of shaming is what we can only hold on to as a way to keep companies in check. I've reported here before that I caught DirecTV's DVR probing my network and making connections to the web server built into my network attached printer. |

Humans but we are forced to give some of them some level of trust at one point or another.
For tech co, it is certainly Google. Just too much information they can gather from each of the computers and devices. |

Amazon
Anything with Zuckerberg Something I noticed recently that seems very invasive is how my phone will pick up on my conversations and advertise to me. For example: I tested this a few weeks ago. My wife and I do not own cats. Over a couple days I would have random conversations with my wife about cat food, cat toys, etc. Not once did I search for anything cat related on my phone, only in conversations. Browsing the internet a couple days later I am getting ads for Purina cat food and all this other garbage all over the place. Am I the only one that finds this invasive? It's interesting the number of people concerned about Google or Amazon when they freely allow them in their homes with Nest and Alexa.

I think I am going to....I'll just babble about something and see what happens.
Well...I babble all the time.
