There are A LOT of people in the US that don't even know what the hell the Grand Prix of Monaco is. The Grand Prix of Monaco is the crown jewel of F1. But overall, with all of the tradition associated with the Indy 500, are you kidding? You can't downplay "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing." Triple Crown of Racing: 24 Hours of Le Mans, Grand Prix of Monaco, Indianapolis 500. Whatever you pick as the best is the biased result of which brand of racing you like. To say my statement was the dumbest you have ever read is absolutely ridiculous. It is unfortunate that you have to stoop to that level to try to draw attention to yourself just to get your opinion looked at. |

I do have to say, watching the Indy 500 after watching the F1 race did feel like a bit of a let down. After watching the best drivers in the world run the hottest cars in the world through downtown monaco in the rain... going around in circles really fast just looked kind of, well, boring.
F1 FTW!!! I'm glad IRL and Champ have merged back to form one unified front. I think it will do a lot for that series. |

There is a lot of tradition behind the Grand Prix of Monaco as well. It's just not shown as much stateside because of a lack of support. It's as simple as that. Same with the Le Mans. There's a lot more that goes on then what the Speed Channel shows. And furthermore, just because I call out your ignorance on a subject does not make me an attention whore. I was just letting you know that the Indy 500 is nowhere near the pinnacle of automotive racing. |

What is your damage? Motorsports fans are motorsports fans (except Nascar). STFU and stop doing your Batman vs. Superman comparisons between different races in different series.

Totally Agree! CART was going great until George's ego got involved and now everything is messed up.

F1 and IRL (or whatever it is now) not the same comparison.
Compare Baseball to NFL, same thing. Not the same. F1 is just that, cutting edge sports car performance with the greatest engine bulders inthe world and the best drivers. IRL, American open wheel racing that breaks down the barriers and allows fans to be more involved. It is not cutting edge, it is not the best worlds best drivers. Some F1 drivers go to IRL etc but for $$ not for the prestige. Running on alcohol, please, stupidest thing people have ever thought up. Now grain and corn prices are through hthe roof so we can put crappy fuel in cars. F1 is all about being the worlds finest, cars, drivers, money spent, best race courses. The IRL is coming to Edmonton, I'll prob go, but an airport course compared to what they race on in F1, no comparison. |
