I would not get the CCB... I test drove it and the CCB are terrible. You'll see many car reviews complain about it. I test drove it through some twisty mountain roads. The pedal has a weird feeling and it's not tuned correctly. It feels like it bites hard but then has no stopping power once you step more - it makes for a very jerky and scary ride. It is very much a electric brake pedal.

Otherwise, it's a great car. It feels so light on it's feet and much more fun to drive than an M3 or C63. But lack of manual transmission and reliability is questionable.

IMHO Japanese cars have a problem with this segment, but they seem to be doing just fine in the lower price point vehicles. At the >$70k range, Euros can command that price.

That being said, it's such a risk to get into an Alpha at this point, and it showing. These aren't flying off the lot. Those of us in the market tend to stick with what's known, for better or worse. I hope Alpha sticks with it and makes a reliable car that will sell, because it can already perform.
I'm not interested in any of them near $80k to be honest. I'd much rather a Hellcat or ZL1 or classic muscle car or C7 or C6 etc

Different folks different strokes! I bet the Alfa would sell much better at $65k but they would be taking a huge loss. Lots of development and upscale (relatively) materials exist in the $80k range than the $70k Hellcat doesn't have but makes up for in raw power. A base M4 is $65k compared to a base $60k Hellcat. The Hellcat is built for the straight line, as many comparison tests with the M4 will show, 1/4 mile and 0-60 are where it shines, but the M4 and other sports sedans outperform the Hellcat consistently on corners mainly because of the weight and driving characteristics. If you a drag racer, Hellcat or Demon etc. but if a more rounded machine you need, there are plenty of better options.

The ZL1 1LE, now there is a machine worth the $$. I just need 4 doors

A few months ago my lease for 335 came to an end and I was looking at a sports car just for me as kids are out of the house now. I looked at the M4, Alfa, S5 and the corvette and and ended up with the F-type. All similarly priced but I just couldn't get over how the Jag looked and sounded. To this day I don't regret my decision at all.

Cheers.

I'm looking into an F-Type R, but I still have a grade schooler to drive around.

Why can't you drive the kid in the F-Type? All the kids will think he's the coolest kid or has the coolest dad.

Because it's unsafe to sit my wife on my lap.

And then you'd need a minivan. Everyone loses!

I'd rather just get another M3.

Indeed. Just have no desire to own an M4. Maybe an M5, but the M4 does nothing for me.

The M5 is too big for what I would want in a high performance sedan. In fact the M4 is also on the bigger side. If there was a 4 door M2 CS I would be all in. That being said, taking the M3, M4, and M2 on the track back to back over two days and you realize how each capable each car is for the roles they were designed for. I'm shopping for an M3 replacement, and for the life of me I can't find one yet. The Alfa QV is on the list, but there are too many drawbacks at this point despite the performance advantages.
