Well that just depends on the look you are going for. If you like the silver contrast, by any means stick with it. But then again, many people go for that black out look... just preference really...

That's what I did, but its a huge pain in the ass. That plus having to remove the bumper to replace the lower grille sections = Not recommended unless you have some time to kill. Now if you don't have an oil cooler, and never will get one, then go ahead and get the 328 grilles.

How many of you guys would be interested in modified OEM black lower mesh (328 mesh kit pre-cut to fit 335's)?

I might can get them done if there is enough interest. I know UED use to sell them on here, but i dont believe they are on here anymore...

I have the OEM 328 black ones in and never modified them for the oil cooler...

Have never had an issue....

By not cutting out the 328 grilles in front of the oil cooler you are severely restricting flow to the oil cooler and reducing the point of even having one in the first place. I would not recommend this, I mean why even have the oil cooler at that point?

But what if the car is a lease, and you paint them? Won't they charge you for that?

1 coat of Rustoleum flat black with a brush. It took me about an hour and will never chip and looks perfect.

Does anyone knows if the shadow line trim of the 09 coupe comes in gloss black or matte black? My car has not arrive yet and they didn't have one at the dealer to look at. My first mod will be to get the kidney grills, bumper grills and reflectors painted. Based on what I saw in the UED website, either option (outer black or color matched) it uses gloss paint for the black. I want to match the shadow line color to the kidney grill color. If the shadow line is matte black then I might end up painting the grills locally. My car will be Space Gray metallic, any suggestions?

I doubt the dealer will even notice. I painted mine myself and wondering why you guys would go through so much trouble in buying the grills. You can paint them for a measly 15 dollars and it takes less than an hour to do. No chips or any problems yet..

It's gloss black. The reason I know is that I've seen a bunch of new E92s up close and I wanted to know this also. It really looks good and it's surprising how such a seemingly small detail really changes how the car looks.
