First time it took about 10 minutes or so for me, that was with a couple of hundred contacts.
Have you got the latest fimrware on your phone? Problem with the iphone is as soon as you plug it in for music the phone part switches off. But then as soon as you plug the N95 in for music the bluetooth connects but the sound is sent through the headphone jack, so you can't hear the caller. Good set up though if you don't have the bluetooth kit, as you now get handfree for the cost of a 50p cable. |

Hey guys - going to reignite this thread. I get a new M-Sport Coupe (335) next week, my old 335 SE, never paired up. Gizzie, just to get this straight here's what i'm gonna do:
1) I've downloaded the patch, I wont install it till i am in the car. 2) I have over 100 contacts, so I'll be prepared to hold on ie) apparently it takes some time. 3) I won't pair my phone with the car just yet. 4) On entry into the car, i'll install the program, and let it run in the background. 5) When its running, do I now pair the device with the car? Do these steps sound correct? Apologies for double-dipping, just trying to get the steps right in my head |

Yeah, but install it now, makes no odds.
In the settings of the app there is a feature called autostart, that has to be enabled. Now when you get the car, I search for the car with the phone and not vice-versa, then add the car to the phone. After quite a while all contacts are added. |

Tried the above but just keeps saying processing on my phone (N73) and this was after 15 mins of waiting.
I tried downloading appliacation onto phone. Uninstalling paired device on car. Starting the application running in the background on my phone by enabling autostart on phone. Search and pair up my phone and car but after 15 mins still no success.. Am I doing something wrong?. |

Hey guys - got my new car yesterday - YAYYYYYYY!!! Looks superb, and everything tickety boo right right through to the hand over.
USB port works a treat, I tried to pair my phone again - with no success I have the 8GB Nokia N95 phone, I assume that the patch is supposed to work with this model as well. How do I make sure that I have the latest phone software downloaded? The phone is quite new - got it in April, so am guessing software should be recent. I will try one last time, but am pretty convinced that I followed all the steps as recommended. I have really gotten used to the N95 and would be sad to downgrade to my K850i Sony Ericsson - which I may just have to do seeing as I am having NO joy....sob...sob... |

I should just add that I think it is BMWs firmware that is causing the problems, as this phone works with Parrot kits, in my November 07 build 3er but does not work in my old mans Jan 07 730d and one with the same firmware doesn't work in a 57 plate 635d.
So I think it is more the bluetooth module in the car than anything else. |

The fact that Chrisbin has exactly the same phone details, and my car is brand new - so should be loaded with latest software, i'm going to have to put this down to 'operator' error (ie - me being technically challenged) hahaah....
Will let the wife have a shot and see if she can fix (I am sad to admit this - she managed to pair phones on two of my previous BM's successfully)...... |

Just to update, mine isnt working 100%, but I'd say about 85%, which is good enough for now! Address book is there which is main priority. Incoming calls dont always tie up to number entered in the address book - sometimes show as the number not the contact name iyswim...
Oh and 50% of the time when I exit the car the phone comes up with "system error".... Apart from that... its fine!!!!

Are you sure that the app is set to run automatically, if it is not you will see all the contacts that have been uploaded already but no new ones will be added, and when someone calls you will get the number or ******* up on screen.
You should find that the app is still running when you get out the car and you have to press HIDE to get back to the main screen of your phone. |

Mine is just running all the time, it won't use any battery really. No more than having your contacts running, it is not using any processing power like the mp3 player does etc.

I'm struggling with this too. It shows as paired but then just fails whenever I try to do anything. I've got a 12 month old original N95 (silver) and an '06' E90 330d M Sport.
Just updated my PC Suite & Mobile Phone Software and am reading the following spec... v20.0.015 13-11-07 RM-159 Nokia N95 (65.03) Will try again later however am not holding my breath... ...I'll report back...
