most women can't even parallel park a car let alone drive one straight forward.

wife goes into a car park, must squeeze her car inbetween 2 others
despite there being PLENTY of spaces, 2 cars up

Not that this follows topic but this is the exact reason you marry someone intelligent and not just because they have a fat ass. Enjoy your marriage.

Ironic twist #27: Now that Trump is starting to really gut the available health insurance options, I'm hearing that patients are starting to 'marry' their buddies so they can put them on their workplace insurance plans (almost as simple as this 'sex change'). I doubt 'the Don' would want credit for any uptrends in that dept, but it gives me a chuckle.

In this case, commit fraud to save a friend's life, FWIW. I was just commenting upon the irony that a classic ultraconservative move (limiting subsidized health insurance) would unintentionally increase the number of same-sex marriages. I will not editorialize on my feelings about Goldie or his culpability, since this thread prefers to be apolitical.

I'm interested in hearing how you came up with that and of course, if you have ever put in a claim on your insurance company.
Never had a claim. It is a legal requirement to have auto insurance, hence government mandated.

Not sure if I would call it fraud. Nothing he did was criminal. He followed the rules set out by the government.

Insurance companies might as well eliminate their entire statistical analysis which they base rates on. Everyone will get the same rate.

Haha, you want to see people REALLY complain? This, like healthcare, would raise rates for a majority of the population, only helping those that are high risk (Multiple excessive speeding, lots of accidents, DUIs, etc).

When talking immigration it is considered fraud... not sure why this would be any different.

Let me clarify. Insurance companies use statistics which include gender to determine what rate will be charged to a customer. Just because you change the M to an F or to an X on a piece of paper doesn't mean that your gender has changed nor has your driving habits. I can see insurance companies removing gender as part of their statistical analysis.

It's possible... more likely they will just use biological gender or it will just become statistically irrelevant by itself.

Historically, women have had lower premiums, not because they are safer drivers, but because they drive less. Men have usually been the ones that drive when they are together, and more women stay at home than men. That, however, has changed over the past decade or so and you are actually starting to see premiums for women be more than for men lately (case in point is me vs. my wife - same age, same driving history, similar credit ratings, etc and I pay slightly less at the same company)

And for the other comment, in the US that would be illegal to get married just to get around legislation. I would assume it is a very grey area to change gender just for insurance reasons, and a company might have a case if they wanted to pursue legal action... especially if you said you did it just for that reason.
