If it was needed BMW would have engineered it that way.

I'm not talking about "mods" although technically this would be.

He asked if it would do anything on an E9x or what the purpose of it was for. It's not a mod on the F30(it would technically be on a e9x), it's for structural support/rigidity on the f30. Don't you think if the e9x needed that support brace there they would have designed it as so(and yes I am aware that engineering doesn't always put out a fool proof design, ie e46 subframe, etc)?

I personally like the look of this. However I agree structural mods that have no function are the definition of rice, which this thread was not about.

Cosmetic mods are subjective. Don't begrudge the OP wanting something different but don't think it looks great either. It's used to mount the bumper cover on I think
