yes you can hear it with windows closed. With music on at a moderate level the spooling sound is minimal at most.

Do you need software to run this dual cone set up? can you install it on a stock car?

Can you explain WHY it is cheaper than the Vishnu dual cone intake? That's the only thing holding me back from buying yours. I don't understand what it is that makes it much cheaper, and I'd much rather spend the money and buy the quality product. You can PM me if you want.
No PMs please!! The rest of us are interested to know as well.

Oh yes, but it is not loud. Remember BMW insolates their cars very well, so it is muffled a bit. With the radio off, it is very noticeable, but in a great way!

You must remember each company caters to a different crowd. Both the Vishnu and BMS are simply couplers and filters. By nature, they are the same and that is why I think most are migrating over to the BMS. Their business model is clear... making reliable products at the best price.

a few reasons...

we already had stock of our high quality anodized aluminum couplers... and our business model is to sell things at the lowest prices... with the best customer service, and the highest quality. even if it means we don't make a lot of profit.

They are virtually identical in looks, and will sound and perform the exact same way. It really comes down to price, customer service or tuner loyalty. You will be happy with either, but maybe a little more happy with the BMS product as then you can buy your car a nice tank of gas with the money you saved

I used to have an rsx-s and returned the car to the dealer with intake b/c they asked me to leave it on. It would seem that of all the mods possible, this one is the least obtrusive, and being that it has nothing to do but provide for a bigger inlet for air...good luck trying to blame something on it, dealer didnt seem to care

Been reading any of the stories on here? If you have turbo problems I suggest being ready to float the bill. There are no mod friendly dealers when push comes to shove.

Will this work for the 135i?
And in combination with the Vishnu v2 / v3?

I just wanted to post an update to my review on my BMS Dual Cone Intake. After running it for 3 weeks or so now, my impression remains the same. It is hot as fire here and I have yet to suffer at all from heat soak. The oil temps have still never breached 250 degrees.

The throttle response is undeniably better and the car still pulls better to redline. Overall, impression remains the same and that is for $120 it is about as good a "bang for buck" mod as you can get.

I just took my 135i to a two day track event with the dual cone intake. The oil temps never went above 255 F. At the track. In july. 30 minute sessions. I was amazed. Even better, this is with the vishnu v3 chip installed (v81, doomsday). I did not have so much as a hiccup the entire weekend.

On the same car without the dual cone and without vishnu my temps at the track were at 275 F.

On my 335i without any intake the track temps were 275 F when the car was stock, and 285 F with vishnu v1 installed.

This junk works. Get it. Thanks Terry / Rick. Thanks Shiv.

Tom that is good info to know. There were questions about track use, but it appears that you have put all of them to rest.

+1

Gotta agree. Installed mine yesterday and have been enjoying the whistle and better throttle response since. The car def feels like it's breathing better overall. I was worried that the sound would be to 'rice' for my taste, but it is very understated.

I think most agree the sound is not obnoxious at all. I think it just enhances the driving experience on a turbo car.
