Hey, I just came across this thread and checked out FTP's solution. Looks good, but wasn't thrilled with paying international shipping cost. I did a little searching around and thought I'd offer a little additional info here. The FTP cover can be purchased from ECS Tuning or, as it turns out that BMS has an alternative, elegant solution. Again, who cares about the cover plate. It's a useless aesthetical mod that they include so they have a justification to a jacked up o-ring price.

Funnily enough I saw a video on youtube about this exact gasket yesterday:
Turns out you can't normally buy the gasket on its own but someone has started making and selling them. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/193870641392 |

I've had mine on for over a year and never had any leaks from the cap.
pavjayt I'd make sure all the old gasket material is out of the groove and clean the cap really well. Lube the seal with some fresh oil before installing the cap and make sure it stays in the groove as you install. If that doesn't work then a little RTV like relative4 says should definitely keep it sealed.

That is nice but he’s charging $19 for the gasket and $30 for shipping, so it’s $50 total. $19 is already ridiculous but then $30 shipping for a small gasket that weighs like the same as a few pennies!?!? For $19 shipped it **might** be worthwhile lol

And you know it doesn't matter where an item is fabricated right? As long as it's what you need and meets the spec it's ok. If a viton O ring is made in China at a reputable factory it's gonna be the same shit then a viton O ring made somewhere else. Considering Grainger sells them I can assure you they are quality. Like this sa nothing to do about being cheap. In fact I'd prefer to buy something from Grainger than a random eBay seller lol but to each his own. 30$ USD to ship to Canada is an absolute fucking joke as well for a miniscule o ring that weighs nothing. |

Did you even see the pictures he has up? The cuts are jagged with leftover material. Get an o-ring from mentioned quality supplier like the rest of us and be done with it. |

So glad to see this finally happened, could have used it 2016-2018 dealing with this. Finally had to use RTV, at least next tie can use an viton o-ring finally.
Now if only DME repairs were becoming safely openable and repaired with a little soldering and capacitor or IC swapping.

https://www.theoringstore.com/store/...ducts_id=27461 Do you have a link to the ones you ordered, or any leftover? I thought 6mm CS 37ID would do it, but no way in hell. They are absolutely massive. Thanks |
