Additionally, the shop I went to for the install commented on how nice these tips are, in comparison to the generic tips. And they do a significant amount of custom exhaust. |

i have replied for all the nay sayers...but i will summarize this in a few short sentences.
1. the tips are an affordable alternative to a full blown exhaust system which will run anywhere between $1200 to $1900 and result in minimal HP gains. they're especially good for those of us with leases, or don't plan on keep the car for over 4 years, etc. 2. they do enhance the sound, especially with the FREE unplug mod there's stuff all over youtube and our blog to show you the sound enhancements. 3. aesthetically they look much better, the stock OEM "sleeves" are only 3 inches and don't fill the openings. many folks say they look like "pea shooters." 4. the magna flow tips have a cheesy "magna flow" logo on them, most folks don't like them 5. last, they are made in the USA, one by one, each one custom fit for BMW 335. we give great service, stand behind our product, and have made hundreds of BMW 335 owners very, very happy. If you guys have any questions, shoot me an email, or call Kenny at JLEVISW.COM |

I am resting easy. I spent 70 bucks, you spent 260. You told me to be the judge....so I judged....

Certainly there are cheaper alternatives out there but what sets the DiMisa apart is the build quality and 335 specific design that makes it sit perfectly inside the rear diffuser whether it be the standard or Mtech. Since taking delivery of our first units, I had a chance to compare the quality and construction of the DiMisa tips versus some of the mass market brands.
The first thing I noticed is the double wall stainless steel construction which is corrosion proof and individually rolled. The fit and installation is very straight forward given that JP went through extensive test fitting and design to make sure it was a perfect add on for the 335 rear diffuser. You will also notice the finish is impeccable both in and out of the tips giving you quite a nice cosmetic upgrade. We had a lot of choices in terms of carrying exhaust tips but time and time again, we have found that it's better to carry a proven higher quality piece that carries a higher price tag but for a reason. If you are looking for a very cheap solution, you can easily pick up a set of Magnaflows on ebay. However, if you want something that has been individually designed for the 335 specifically with guaranteed, fit, finish and quality...DiMisa is the only choice. |

The shop that did the install sells Magnaflow and builds custom exhausts. They immediately noticed that the quality of the Dimisa was a little better. They had done an E92 with Dimisa tips earlier that week and were happy with how well that turned out, as well. I used to look around and try and find the perfect items cheaper to mod my car, but those days are behind me. Now I make money, and it is not worth it to do that extra work. It takes me 20 minutes to make up that difference if I stay a little later at work. Driving out to a shop that has the Magnaflow tips and monkeying around for the right fit would take me much longer. Also, the extra $70 was paid happily for the convenience of not having to shop around and look at different Magnaflow options that might have the look that I wanted. Sure, there is possibly an identical Magnaflow tip, but I did not want to waste the time looking around and pairing it up - especially since I had so many examples of the Dimisa tips on the car. I have the 4 inch Dimisa tips on the exhaust ( M-sport bumper ). The mod is worth the price and the exhaust sounds very nice ( golf tee mod done as well ). Great product !

Actually 140 a pair if you an E90post member.
They aren't stained looking tips. They are polished out to a brilliant lusted much like your DPE lips.

So spending near 2100 dollars for an exhaust system that basically only aesthetically pleasing and only gives 4-5 HP is worth it???? I personally think spending money on the exhausts offered for this car is pointless. If that is what floats the boat for some guys, so be it. You can modify the stock muffler setup to sound just like the Eisenman that people adore so much. Polish up the mufflers and slap on some quad tips and you are ready to go aesthetically. One last thing that I am confident many people have said time and time again... This is a 40k+ car at the least... do people really want to modify this car for the price it costs to modify an 10 year old Honda? Let's try and put things into perspective. P.S.: This is coming from someone who has built hundreds and hundreds of cars over the last 6-7 years. I feel that I have a pretty good grasp on what is worth it, and what isn't.

I would much rather research other options because for me that is part of the fun in modification. On the other hand, I do understand that if you find something that you like then go for it.

Wow man, I really do not agree with this at all.
I agree that 2100 on a muffler is ridiculous, but what you said in bold is surprising. Do you not see the power increases at the wheels that a complete exhaust gives? There is now way in hell that anyone with a golf tee mod and super special tips would even come close to my setup! Quote:

the majority of the exhausts put out at LEAST 10 hp...but ya those ones end up being like $1400+ but seriously, if the tone is pleasing to you, the looks are just right, and there's some sort of power advantage (it all adds up) i think it'd be worth it, the only reason why i havent gotten one yet, is because i'm still researching and hoping that AE comes out with a quad model |

I never said complete exhaust (including downpipes). By exhaust, we are referring to aftermarket muffler setups, such as the Eisanmann and so on. We aren't talking about setups like yours which have DP's and so on. DP's are worth it, aftermarket muffler setups are not.
