Nice! Looking forward to seeing the dyno plots. How's the torque curve? Is the 431 a spike or does it plateau?

Once I get my FMIC and new exhaust I will be going back to the dyno again as well. I am hoping to get pretty close to your numbers...

Again, Congrats James, it is quite an accomplishment...

wow great work man, congrats!

what do you think about :

Autobahn Exotics catless exhaust
Riss Racing Catless DPs
Spearco IC

i'm actually thinking of going catless with the AE catless exhaust, can you comment on that setup please. Smell, rasp, loudness, etc.

Also, are you happy with the IC? did you look into others before buying this one?

I really would appreciate some info because this is exactly the setup i'm going for but dont want to pull the trigger without knowing what to expect.

cheers!

nice numbers James!!

hov, the smell is no better or worse than any other catless 335... basically, you can smell it, but its not bad at all compared to other kinds of catless cars ( *cough* my old wrx *cough* ).

loudness: stock sound levels when you want around town, a beast when you go WOT.

rasp? what's rasp? there is no rasp, and no drone with this setup

Actually I see 16.5 for some reason. Confirmed by the boost reading on the dyno.

thanks jp, but does your response apply to a completely catless car? is the sound really that similar to stock when you're just driving around normally? My friend's 350z is catless, the sound is mean but also abnoxiously loud in general and smells horrible. I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect not just from the AE exhaust but with a fully catless setup and this muffler.

also, james, could you please comment a little about your experiance with your IC? thanks

my car is completely catless, so i'm speaking from experience

and yes, thats why this exhaust is the best. Around town the car sounds almost stock, but when you get on it it really opens up nicely. I've been meaning to get some video driving around town and cruising on the highway. You basically only hear the intakes! people really don't believe it until they see/hear it in person... so i really need to get the videos done!

and ps, the ae exhaust isn't just a muffler. it replaces the secondary cats.. its a full downpipe-back exhaust

Holy crap!!! That must pull like a freight train.

Just for kicks, I'd like to take that car to a superspeedway and see what kind of top end number it would produce. Might need some suspension work to keep it on the track though, and you'd really need a roll cage to run speeds that high. There's probably a way to estimate it based on the CD and whp...

My goal was 400whp. While to some, this may seem like a foolish goal.

Well, the results: 398whp and 431ft/lbs.

I made 6 runs. All runs were 395whp+. Torque varied a bit, and this was the max I could make. I saw as low as 392 on one run, which is a bit strange. All runs were on pump gas (92). It was about 82 degrees.

I cant stress how happy I am with the results. Compared to another tune I had, Ive gained about 20+ whp. Not to mention the power delivery is a lot smoother. There is just so much more up top, car keeps pulling.

Once the .drf files get emailed tome I will post them up. So consider this a teaser.

Big thanks to the Tacoma crew, Nick@Autobahn, Adam@Riss and Shiv@Vishnu. Just a note Ive been one of Shiv's biggest critics and he's made me eat my foot. V3 has been nothing short of awesome. Power, usability and reliability has all been spot on.

My setup:
PROcede V3 Stage 2 map
Autobahn Exotics catless exhaust
Riss Racing Catless DPs
Spearco IC
CPE-Tial BOV
Dual K&N cone intake

Thanks for looking
Glad you're happy with the results. Looks great to me. There is a lot more to come...

Cheers,
shiv
