Yeah, the last statement.

"What do you know"

In this country not everything is based around "service VS markup" (That attitude will eventually pull down an entire economy - oh, look over there - and the majority can't even see it coming....)

This dealer is smart. They know I have money, they give me a better car than I have every time I go in for a service.

(BTW, my wife and I just attended an invitational evening at the dealership with wine and cheese to launch the X6 and 1-series coupe. We have since been mailed a "coupon" to come in for a test drive of either. Great dealer.)

Have fun. (I did)

Very intresting story! I never wanna take mine out!

My brother just picked up the new M3. I havnt taken it past 5500 RPM though so its not in its power band. My car seems to have loads more torque in the lower RPMs. But the numbers show for that.

Dealers here aren't marking up M3's. They will sell them at MSRP all day, maybe even give a small discount to a long-time customer.

Before I bought my 335, I went in to test drive an M3 fully expecting to buy one. It was not at all what I expected. In my opinion it is not a very good street car, it really has to be whipped to give the performance you expect. In any case it certainly is not worth $20k more than a 335, and is absolutely not worth paying over MSRP to get.

The 335 is a much better street car, and with the SSTT it feels much more powerful than the M3 in NORMAL driving conditions.
