I really like the car but, the paint is very poor quality. It's my main gripe with this car. I know they are being more environmentally friendly with the new paint and all but, I'd much rather have the old planet poisoning harder paint that looks good.
More annoying than the softness and orange peel, my wife's car has some trash in the passenger rear door right on the character line and you can see some fish eyes in the door jambs on my car. The level of orange peel and softness on my JB is considerably worse than pretty much any car I've owned previously. I could forgive this quality paint on a cheap kia but, on a premium brand it's pretty much inexcusable. Last edited by hotrod2448; 07-26-2008 at 09:12 AM.. |

Now for the A/C. When the ambient temperature exceeds 95 deg (and it does happen quite often in NV) the effectiveness of the environmental controls is minimal at idle. The a/c compressor output (how much freon gets to the evaporator) is directly related to the engine rpm therefor, at 3000 rpm or less the a/c compressor does not have a very high output (most of daily driving are at or below 3500). Don't forget, these cars are designed in Germany and all engineering specs are based on those parameters (that's also why these cars are so stable at high speeds), they don't quite see too many 95+ F days over there, same holds true for 90% of U.S. even more so for Canada. If you keep the engine rpm revs above 3000 rpm, you will feel a noticeable air temp drop. If a few degrees is killing you than drive in a lower gear, I guarantee your A/C will be sufficiently cold. As for the other mechanical issues mentioned I really do feel bad for the unfortunate individuals having to deal with problems. I drive the hell out of my car, had it for less than 6 months already put almost 11,000 miles on it. Not one little glitch except for the wind buffeting issue exclusive to convertibles. (KOW) |

Well said about the A/C, that make sense. Thanks for the information

No issues here. A/C seems to work very well here in the humid DC Area. Not a single issue in 8 months other than the run-flats. Will be replacing the wheels and going to non-RFTs soon.

It was 118 degrees the other day and took much longer to cool my car than my g35 coupe. The A/C does not cool well above 95 degrees. The air feels cool not cold.

My A/C blows ICE cold and we have had some 105 degree days lately.
The only issue I have is every time I push my foot down on the right pedal, I get a flashing light on my dash. It only goes away when I hold down the button called DTC for 3 seconds but then I find that the tires start spinning. I think it has something to do with the fact that I have WAY north of 300 hp and 300 tq that BMW states. But, I dont think I will go to the dealer and complain |

335 problems?
Had my 335 for a year and a half now.
Complaints 335: 1) Driver's side door handle loves to peel. It's getting replaced. 2) Seat belt presenter got stuck extended once. Had to shut the car off and let whichever on-board computer was taking the day off think about it and retract the damn thing. It worked. 3) While the car is warming up, as the idle drops, there's a buzz from the muffler area. Lasts for a second or two and then I don't hear it again. 4) Comfort access likes to act up ever since I got that damnable window tint. Orange peel paint? I like texture in the right amount. I happen to not like flat paint as much. It's why I have texture on the walls of my house. Besides, my Monaco Blue is just f'n gorgeous orange peel and all, particularly in sunlight and even more so with my Vorsteiner CF visible along the crease line of my new boot lid. WOW! So, sorry, I don't agree with the rest of you folks. Complaints Infiniti FX 35: 1) CD changer went Kablooee (sp) and had to be replaced. 2) When starting the engine, there would almost always be a loud rattle (valve clatter) which would subside after a few seconds. It was annoying. Had the same thing on my G35 coupe and so did my girlfriend on her G35 coupe. Apparently it's common. No engine problems though. 3) A 'chang-chang' sound from the front axle when hitting bumps. Very noticeable with the window down. Dealer could never diagnose it before I traded the vehicle. 4) Driver's side power seat squeak (G35 coupe too) Complaints Infiniti G35 coupe: 1) The aforementioned valve clatter on start up except it happened all the time. Dealer could only recommend synthetic oil as a solution. I said it shouldn't be necessary given the price of that stuff (hey, I'm a tightwad) and the manufacturer's recommendation for regular oil. 2)Transmission began slipping under hard acceleration between 4th and 5th with less than 16000 miles on the vehicle. It happened just enough to be difficult to reproduce when I needed to reproduce it. Traded the vehicle before the dealer diagnosed it. 3) Driver's side power seat squeak. Loudly! 4) CD change went Kablooee and had to be replaced. And by Kablooee, I mean it started skipping during songs then started not playing and then wouldn't eject my CD's unless I was real nice to it or after giving the damn car a Midol. 4) Paint chipping off the front bumper at an accelerated rate. Paint seemed thin for some reason. There's no such thing as a perfect vehicle. In terms of reliability, my 335 has been VERY reliable; at least as reliable as either of my previous Infinitis or my prior Altima. So, my BMW ranks right up there with Infiniti. And please note, I love Nissan/Infiniti vehicles but hey, I LOVE my 335. J |
