I have never been to any of the No Cal tracks. That is something I will do once my kids get older. Right now I try not to be gone for longer than a day.

Actually I am thinking of doing the CCC too...I want some place to practice throttle over steer. What do you think?

do the autocross the sunday before - MUCH better place to practice throttle steer.

I enjoy AX but you really get spoiled by doing track days. While CA Speedway is not my favorite I have a friend who wanted to go so I signed-up for Saturday only. It looks like there is still plenty of space so people should sign-up!

12 days away!

I was talking with a SD instructor yesterday and he was pretty sure there was gonna be a bus stop or chicane to slow things down. I told him the pic that sayM3 posted says otherwise.

I am SURE they will have the chicane - otherwise you are going onto the banking in turn one at 145 mph +.

During O'Fest (was it 2004 or 2005?) at CA Speedway I overheard Boris Said talking to Bill Auberlen about their e-ticket rides in the M3 race car and the MacLaren race car. They were talking about limiting their speed in the oval to about 140 because above that it puts too much strain on the cars... on the dedicated race cars.

So now every time I go into that banking at 120+ in my totally stock car I have a mental pause.

It was pretty freaky in all honesty. The G forces are really high and you have plenty of time to contemplate the great wall and the consequences of a tire/suspension/motor failure. But darn it...that Carrera was NOT going to get away from me
