I used to be about dead even with the Vette when it had just and intake and I was with a JB2 but that was a month a go.

Today I have the JB3 and he has done $5200 in mods (long tube headers, cam and customer motor and tranny dyno tunning. The C6 gained 80whp with the new mods. When we race now, its still a good race but the Vette is damn fast. After 100mph kills me :-( but I'm cool with it.

well i was reading lil more into the topic at MBworld

he says there might have been a problem with his sl600
something about the following morning the car wouldn't turn over
and had a lumpy idle

sorry to be a ball buster but it didn't make sense to me either

My friend is getting his SL looked at Monday to make sure everything is good. MB have a lot of electrical demons
We are going to do a few more runs later in the week, maybe Thrusday or something. I guess that will be the true test.

I ran a newer Shelby Cobra Mustang. When he got the jump, I couldn't reel him in, but kept pace. When I got a slight jump, he was back there, same thing, couldn't reel me in at all. 30-120mph. When he came next to me, he gave me a thumbs up. When we were about to come to a stop, side by side, perfect opportunity, he wouldn't go for it, and turned right. Talk about a weak 500hp! But I ran with a 08 C6, and we were pretty much even to 70mph with me gaining a fender. I guess Cobra isn't any faster than a new C6 anyways. So far, it seems on 91 octane, my car is pretty much even with those big V8s. I only wish I were in the sedan, because it would be even more surprising to them.

He'll pull you pretty hard past 110mph.

40-110mph is a short sprint and harder for heavy amg to win.

Just JB3 and 19" M6 Reps. I would have beat them in the sedan too on the RFTs. The sedan is a bit quicker than the coupe so far.

Not to be a doubter, but is his car running ok? They trap at 120+ mph, I'd expect him to walk you pretty hard, as I haven't seen a 335i get close to those trap speeds.

Mercedes 600-series cars have been equipped with a 5.5L twin-turbo V12 since model year 2003, prior to then they were normally aspirated 5.8L V12s. The 65 on the other hand is a 6.0L twin-turbo V12.

I'm not calling BS, just that his car has a problem. It has to, or there is a coke bottle stuck under his gas pedal. The 600 series cars will outrun every 335 out there right now in stock trim at the strip (assuming equal drivers). Hell I saw a lightly modded S600 run a 10.5x in the low 130's at MIR last year.

see here, chip and smallish shot of nitrous equals mid 10 second big body benz.....crazy. Watching this car was astonishing, it just rocketed off the line and walked so many cars while barely making a noise. the driver kept coming back after the run laughing....."I had my seat massaging me and a/c on during that run!!"
