Thanks, the checkers are alloy/graphite but I changed up my design a little from the picture I had earlier in the thread. Instead of alternating colors every square I went with alternating colors every block of 4 squares. This made the installation much quicker and easier since they ship the tiles in blocks of 4 (4 tiles of one color already connected). The design I went with is below.

My next plan is to change the paint color below the stripe to a darker gray with a matte finish.

I'm about 1 hour from Toledo btw.

And one with my car enjoying the new floor:

Got some sample pieces from RaceDeck and American Floor Mats. The American samples almost look identical to the RaceDeck. Just look at the Made in USA logo. What do you think?

I thought about this too with the bigger checkers. You think the smaller checkers won't look good? I like how you went with a single red border

Have you considered having more than one style of tiles? Solid around the parameter, with open where you want drainage?

I decided against the smaller checkers because I thought the pattern looked a little too busy. The picture below, which has the smaller checker design, is what changed my mind.

They do look identical.

I went with Racedeck after reading many positive reviews about their product and customer service.

Oh you're right. I see the difference. I'll have to redo mine

do you have the garage cabinet sitting on top of the flooring? does it seem to not sit flat or do you see issues down the road?

so my issue now is I was able to redo the design with the bigger checkers however in doing so I ran into a couple of issues and wanted your guy's opinions. so in this first design the only way to get complete squares was a triple border on top, and single black outline/border except the left side.

here is with the double border triple on top. but the squares inside aren't even. thoughts?

Surely there are cabinets, work benches and such around the perimeter. I'd center the inner pattern within the remaining space. Also, I don't see any appeal of having three separate inner pattern areas. I'd just have one big inner rectangle section. The garage would look bigger and less busy this way too.

I’d go with one big rectangle. Make the blue a skinny row as you can, and then make your rectangle evenly squared off (no half squares).
Only reason I see to do separate parking squares is if you are going to park separate vehicles in each of the 3 stalls. But then they’d be better if equal in size. I would not let my tires sit on The blue border tiles. The blue should be just outside of where the wheels sit of your longest vehicle. Also when you order tiles, order spares of each color. These things get built in dye lots, so in the future if you ordered they probably wouldn’t quite match if you had to replace one. So get a few of each as spares. Although I’ve never had to replace any of mine yet.

Measure up all your cabinets, fridge, compressor or anything you might have placed on the floor permanently and ensure you have room beyond that area for some black tiles to show your border. I lost about 5 feet off the deep end of my garage for workbench and working area and pop cooler.

Everything is sitting on the Racedeck flooring and it all sits flat with no issues.

I like the look of the separate squares for each vehicle. Once the floor goes down you won’t even notice that the squares aren’t even because the way the tiles are designed. The tiles change their appearance depending on where you’re standing so either design will look fine. I’d go with what you like best and I can guarantee it’ll look great and you’ll love the finished result.

something like this? the tall garage cabinet measures 19.5" deep and the smaller cabinets 16" deep so that'll leave at least 4-6" or black in front of the cabinets so i'm debating whether to go with a double/triple border on the back of the garage.

it's a 3 bay garage. I've seen a lot of designs with each bay having their own pattern so that's how I came up with that

agree. I think the 3 separate squares just kind gives each car it's own space. tho the far right bay may end up being a lounge

I've seen that too. Personally I think one big rectangle looks better, and would make the garage look bigger. Not my house though! Just sharing my thoughts. Rock on. 🤘🏻

What's the size of your floor? Maybe some ambitious person would create and share their own design for your space.
