There is no proven solution for upgrading the stock auto transmission.

What's the everyone's consensus of HP at the wheels on the stock 6AT?

Honestly I don't know. I don't think anyone can draw a demarcation line in the sand and say X tq and X hp at the wheels is ok.

It really depends on the health of the auto tranny and the life it has had. I would hazard to guess you keep the tq low and HP under 600 you should be ok...but it is really a toss up. Someone could have beat the piss out of the stock clutches before it ever got to you.

Its not the HP that kills the AT , its the torque.
With that being said, Torgus is correct. No way to tell what it will handle or for how long. I know mine had issues at 460lb ft torque. I am currently at a little over 550lb ft of torque on same trans with zero issues now.

If I go single I’m going to go with the ACF kit with the Gen 2 5862BB. I’ve ran large turbos on cars before that had “headroom” and they just weren’t fun to drive on the street. This car is a daily driver and will never see the track or glory dyno pulls. The 5862 is rated at 700hp which matches my goal of 550whp nicely.

I’m still on a business trip until December and will make my decision when I come back between the twins or the single.

What did you do to it to correct the issues?

Sonnax zip kit and Xhp,. While I had the valvebody out, I also replaced the seals between valvebody and trans as well as mechatronics sleeve and fresh fluid. Zero issues so far.

There is a proven solution in the form of Nizpro AT rebuild but, not cheap. Then again if you decide to go big power it lfollows the rule :cheap /fast/reliable (pick 2)
Still a few of these trans and parts around.

Yeah but even then what is the most that has held and for how long? I am not sure you can consider it 'proven'

The only real solution seems to be a mt swap with twin disk or spec 3+ or an auto from a domestic.

I wish there was a proven repliable reliable solution for the autos do not get me wrong.

My car runs 10s with it at 130+mph and track days for a few years not a problem. Wont have an issue with a big single, its built for it. . The billet shafts etc build process is the same Nizpro use as the bigger brother 6hp24 in Australian XR6 barra equipped cars with over 1200hp.

The Hardware is there. Tuning solution seems to be lacking?

Nizpro dropped support and is so busy with other markets that they don't care to cater to our cheap platform.

You can still get a trans sent there and built.

Good to know I thought nizpro was done with it as well.

What the cost to have them do the full works? I guess you source a tranny in Australia and have it sent to save on shipping.

Even then it's not 100% dialed in. It's just the only option we have at our disposable.

Slip form 3rd to 4th. Dropped pan, fresh fluid, new pan and filter, and sonnax kit with mechatronics sleeve.
Worked well
Then 4th to 5th flare
Dropped pan, fresh fluid, shift solenoids, Xhp.
So far so good but for sure was a headache at the time.

Seriously , You wont care. The way I have mine setup Its absolutely awesome! Most people are happy with a stock auto and xhp stg3. This is even better.
Shifts are very very fast and it holds all the power you want.
