Aside from IstaD, one can go to https://newtis.info for technical info.

I unpack ista open the pre install folder installed everything I figured out that the order is wrong in the folder 1st pre-install should be the 2013 Microsoft files not the 2015 but anyways they all install than I move rheingold to c:\program files(x86). Then I go to c:\program file(x86)\rheingold\testergui\bin\release and create a shortcut for "Istagui" on the desktop than move it to the bmmw tools folder icon and rename the shortcut to Ista. When I launch ista the spinning wheel pops up than windows asking for permission to allow ista to make changes I select ok or yes whichever it is the spinning wheel comes on again and then nothing happens I've tried on a windows 8 and 10 laptops to and the exact thing happens. I don't know what the f#%* I'm doing that is wrong here ? Is inpa supposed to be running while you install ista ?? Do you only rename the istagui shortcut to ista? Or the file in rheingold to I've tried this everywhich way?!!! Help please !!

Show us your "Rheingold\TesterGUI\bin\Release"folder content. Does it has RheingoldSessionController.dll in it?

Installing ista was relatively easy compared to Inpa for me using
Bimmergeeks.net downloads. Make sure .ocx files got installed
and registerd properly.(I believe that was in Inpa)

Download the link
Unzip using 7z ( I unzipped it to a holding folder)
Move it to the folder indicated .
not sure if there was something else.
open it using admin login (be sure to do this)
Drop the key in .(copy paste)
Close it open it again .
Go to the Interface option page and select Interface.
Which will be ediabas for K/D can cables
and you are set.
Edit the properties in your shortcut to always open as
Admin.

I went through this extensively with this guy

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1581663

Screen shots of registry's and all related folders
Turns out he did not have all the C++ redistributables.
Never did any windows clean builds on any of the computers
I brought this up on. (2)

You need to have plenty of disk space for the ista programs.
50 gig for ista d 200 gig for ista p I hear.
windows 10 is likely to have all the sub programs such as netframework
and windows C++ at level beyond what you need.
Windows 10 has the a couple of changes that differ from the
instructions.
command prompt is now the power shell (right click on Start and use the admin version)
Home version of win 10 does not like you to be admin.
You do not have to have the K/D can cable plugged in to open Ista D
You can open it and look through procedures and do searches
for whatever you like.

Xidino123 thanks for joining the underdog team here man I appreciate it that sessioncontroller.dll file is there. You know I've been use keygens and cracked softwares for years. Installing the creative cloud adobe suite and every type of software you could imagine. Things way more complex than this setup routine here. I've completely restored to factory each laptop before trying to install on windows 10 and 7. I did download the files onto an external drive I opened the archive and than moved the unzipped folders to my desktop and ran everything from there. I did make sure file sizes were the same to make sure everything was moved correctly this isn't the problem i did the same way for standard tools and it's good. As far as the c++ redisrtributable files I do not every year installed but I have several but it all I guess I'm gonna start installing those missing ones

There is a picture of all the redistributable C++ necessary in the last referenced
link to the microsoft update page for those. And pictures of the folders and registry for the program.
Taken from my computer with a Ista D working.

Bimmergeeks.net ista d is not a standalone program it's dependent
on standard tools working it uses some of the same sub folders to work.

CTUNA I saw those pics in the thread you mentioned If using a 32 bit system there's no need for installing the 64 c++ files. I have a working machine here windows 7 32 bit I borrowed my friend to help
Me figure this shit out Everything works on this one

For anyone else having problems with the Ista install or for anyone in the future who might wonder these are the prerequisites that I installed on a windows 7 64 bit operating system

No just drop it in .
Close it reopen it and go to the Interface Selection and
select the appropriate interface . For a K/d can cable using
the Bimmergeeks setup that is the edbias selection.
(INterface menu is shown in the link I put up with all the screen shots)

Also you may want to go into the shortcut properties and set
it up to always open as Admin if it is a problem . I had this problem
in Win10 but I don't think I did in Win 7.

By the way Windows has a snipping tool for screen shots .
This sight won't accept high bit rate shots you have to cut
the dpi down to post them.

Not Quite Out Of The Woods Yet !!!

I've been using the snipping during most of this thread and it does do the job well, I just got lazy today and used my cellphone . I did set up properties as well and beside running as admin I had to put ista in compatibility mode for Windows 7.
I'm not out of the woods yet though because ista is opening up but I am getting an error right when it opens and the only thing it lets me do is to click ok than it shuts down. The error says : " the database versions are incompatible with each other. Please contact your local support team. There may also be an incomplete installation ". When I click on the ok button ista shuts down instantly
