Sounds like your clutch paks are done and slipping.
You can replace all the solenoids and seals, but if the clutches are worn and glazed it won't help. I had my 6AT rebuilt a few years back and they replaced all the clutches because they were worn out.....probably from early piggyback days before backend flashes. The tranny was not getting correct torque information back then. Find a shop that works on german transmissions and ask them for a quote to re and re the tranny including clutches. |

Any update on the transmission shutter? Were you able to get down to the bottom of it?

i've got a xhp gearbox map on my e92 330d and have shifting problems with all of the maps, the worst is the shift from second to third gear, if you watch the rev counter it looks as thought it's shifted gear but it hasn't and then it shifts about a second later it almost feel like a half shift if that makes sense.
spoke to xhp and they said to adjust the torque reduction upshifts i've got the second to third shift reduced by 40% and it's still not great, also seems worse when it's cold. even if i use the stock map with the xhp software it still does it but only slightly, car shifts perfect with the xhp software uninstalled. |

Xhp is 100% worth it, don't hesitate. It will transform your car. Iv had mine installed for 5 years without a single issue. Just do a transmission service before you tune it. Then follow the break in procedure and your good to go.

I've had xHP stage 2 for a few years now, I love it. My car runs 10's in the 1/4 with the rock transmission...no slipping or issues. Probably making close to 575-ish HP. I'm sure it would be slipping with the stock tune. |

I am XHP curious... worth it for my spouse's basic 528i commuter? I hate the way it lugs down around 1,200-1,500 RPM, but moving it to sport mode makes the shifts too high and too abrupt. So something that splits the difference would be nice. Would be good for this application? Do I need to buy the license and the Map tool (package)? I may be dull, but they don't specifically spell that out on their site.

You can also manually adjust shift points and shift speeds. I personally hate Sport mode, I find it jerky and holds the rpm too high. I use D mode for daily use as I use the "relaxed" preset. Then the Manual mode I have set very aggressive for fastest up and down shifts. I never use S mode.

And I would need both components, the license and the maps? |

Just let the car naturally adjust before you start playing with all the custom settings. Battery charger as you install is 100% needed.
