Such a nice, thoughtful build, thread, and and BMW collection! This AW E91 is very clean and turned my head each time I saw it locally.

You may see me in my recently acquired LMB E91. At some point I'd like to meet. Keep up the good work!

Oh nice! We need to meet up and do a shoot or something soon. I live in Newnan and work in PTC near the airport.

Exactly my thoughts. Let me get past this weekend HPDE at Barber and we'll find a mutually convenient time to meet. I live in Senoia, so I'm en route between your home and work.

I'll be piloting my friend's track-prepped, NB Miata, a friendly momentum car.
The E91 is not ready for the track yet, but will be by next spring. Frau Blau will be my daily with just enough modification for a couple of HPDE's and mountain drives per year.

I finally got around to putting in the water pump and t-stat over the weekend, so up it went on the lift.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

This was the worst part of the job, popping the first hose off and dumping coolant everywhere. I deployed my trusty kiddie pool to catch most of the splatter.

After that is was was fairly easy to remove them.

And all buttoned up and wiped down.

I have to say the automatic bleeding process is pretty slick. Im used to working on older bmws that you have to manually bleed.

Did a few little projects over Christmas. I gave it a wash and took it out for a cruise on Christmas night to snap some pics.

Then I removed some labels from the car. Certainly not necessary but I feel like it cleaned up the car a little.

Then pulled the warning labels off the visors.

I used my steamer to help pull the labels up, but it kinda messed up the material under the fabric on the visor.

They aren't perfect but they do look better.

I also got my 2020 calendar from Turner motorsport, I really like December..

I also ordered a stage 3 intake and it should be here by this weekend I hope.

So, a clarifying question: If I have stock wheels in ET37, I would need 19mm spacers to match that look in the rear? So, that is why some others probably go with 15mm spacers in the rear?

Kinda, it would depend on the width of wheels. This explains it better than I could.

Finally got around to putting the stage 3 manifold in the car, this was as fun as it looks.

And back together, well mostly. I stopped at this stage to start the car and let it run for a little while.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

And fully buttoned up. It made it to work today with not issues.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

I haven't noticed a power gain but thats because I cant get the damn tune to load.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

I will update this once I get the tune loaded.

Nice works and photos, as usual! I saw you pass by as I was leaving work one day last week. I was likely too far back in the car line for you to notice Frau Blau, my E91. Your Alpine was looking good!

After speaking with nsjames on the forum, I changed some settings on my cable, and downloaded the Daten files. I ran the tune and temporarily bricked my ECU. Thankfully he was nice enough to save my ass by remotely accessing my computer and running the tune. He took a little over 2 hours of his time to help a random dude from the internet and help me get the car up and running. Once we got the tune on the car, I took it for a test drive, and to recharge the battery and its running great. This was certainly worth the headaches.

That is great news! That is what this forum is about.

Are you feeling a significant improvement in power now that the new tune is in place?

It is certainly noticeable. It definitely has more power 1800-2800 rpm. I need to drive it more but I am happy with it.
