Have had mine for over a month with the AFe intake and I absolutely love it, the magic warranty killer code is with Torque level readings with the 29.2 from down low, thats why the torque is reduced down low compared to some tunes that people run with PRE 29.2...........
I have put over 2000 miles on the car with this tune and there are no complaints!!! |

I just posted something related to this topic in my thread so I thought I'd also share it here.
Things I've noticed under everyday normal driving is that the car feels much more smooth and civilized now. With the JB2H the car had a very rough and strong low end grunt and sometimes I just wished if the car would be smoother. Although that low end grunt was nice when you wanted to press on the gas but under normal civilized driving I didn't like it. It always looked like the car had an Adrenaline rush and wanted to go faster. Besides that I now feel an increased throttle response and by that not only I feel that the car is now more responsive but the gas pedal and acceleration are more predictable and controllable. In other words, say you're on a 45mph speed limit road and you want to overtake a car while doing 45mph, with the JB2H even with a slight of throttle the car would jump and downshift even if I'm in D mode which honestly eliminated the beauty of driving a comfy beautiful car like BMW. Now with the JB3 I know exactly how much throttle is required to give X amount of power and how much throttle I need to get the car to downshift and overtake a car quickly. One other thing I've noticed is the gas consumption. I used to get around 220-240miles per tank with my JB2H. Most of my driving is in the city, about 65% of the time, and the rest of the time, 35%, is highway driving. With my JB3, which I've been having for nearly a week now, I've been doing 270-290miles per tank. I'm not sure why to be honest, but I think and believe it could be because of the smoothness and how the there isn't anymore of the strong low end grunt that could be gas consuming. I haven't discussed this with Terry or any professional, and I myself I'm not a professional but this is my own personal conclusion which may sound silly. I hope though that someone can chime in about it and if there is anyone else who noticed that would confirm it, or it could just be me driving less aggressively and that's why I've been getting better millage, but I really haven't been lol And Besides normal everyday driving conditions, things that I've realized after adaptation is the great high end power and how the car pulls hard up to redline. And not to mention the awesome woosh sound and turbo spool that is more significant now during shifts and at high rpms |

i like the JB3's smoothness and the linear delivery of power.
i drive a 6 speed and JB3 power band feels very close to the stock.. just with more power. it makes driving in traffic bearable... also, i find it easier to launch it in first gear than my previous Xede... Perhaps we should be asking if the drivers who desire more power instantly in first gear if they are driving an automatic transmission... ??

I like the linear throttle response under JB3. Definitely, compared to my previous JB2H+, the lack of torque-rush at low/mid RPM under partial throttle is noticeable, but I welcome it. This torque-rush was a bit deceiving... since if you wanted more, and went full throttle, it didn't give you any more! Basically, you were running full power at 1/2 throttle at low/mid RPM's.
I think my gas mileage suffered under JB2H+ because of this "on/off" switch-like throttle response. Now I can accelerate smoothly at a rate I dictate with my right foot. On the autocross tracks with JB2H+, the lack of fine throttle control made things a bit challenging. I'm looking forward to the next autocross, where I can take advantage of this finer control with JB3. Like everyone else, I'd say the power under WOT with JB3 is AWESOME.... just a relentless pull to triple digits before you know it! Its very smooth, almost feeling like an electric motor, where you no longer feel the engine running out of breath at higher RPM's. Shifts on my 6AT seems to have gotten smoother... which is a good thing.

came from a SSTT, noticed more 'feel' or 'jolt' in lower rpms compared to the JB3, the JB3 definitely pulls ridiculously at high rpms, but at times i noticed a lag up to about 3k RPM that wasn't there at stock or w/ SSTT
the car in general is smoother, much easier to make very clean/unnoticeable shifts to the passengers though i think i'd like a little bit more low end power so that the transition from low end power to high end power is even more linear? |

After about a week of driving with the jb3 I have to say its really starting to drive perfectly and very very fast. At first I wasnt too sure about the tune and now that it seemed to have fully adapted I am very pleased with this tune. It simply is amazing.

I have the same feeling as everyone else, ive had mine on for just over a week. It pulls very hard on WOT and feels like stock when just doing daily driving.
It may be me, but I've kinda felt its had more lag under 3k RPM after putting the tune on but obviously pulls WAY harder above that on WOT. I'll be taking JB3 out for a dealer visit here soon so i'll be able to tell. I have the v81 version of JB3, Im 90% sure I have that version of prog also but can't say for sure as I wasnt the original owner of the car. I do have the silver nav screen but don't think thats a definite. Also, I can't wait for the map switching to go back and forth so you can really tell the difference. and off topic here: What tools will we need for map switching when its available? Or do we just need to get the Stage 3 map switch from bms website? And then Maps will be delivered later? EDIT: Nvermind, just read Ricks latest post saying 3 maps are included and more will be delivered later at cost, just need to get the map switcher |

Tried the JB3 on an open stretch of a 10 mile bridge last night. Car went up to 140 mph in no time w/o a hint of slowing down. I could've hit 150 mph but I got scurred...CHP hide by the emergency spots. 160 possible? I have DCI, JB3 and on 100 octane...WOW!
I finally figured out how to launch this car with this tune at 2k rpm. |

I've had the JB3 on my car for about 4 days now. It's a great tune!
I'm coming from SSTT and miss the low-end grunt. The JB3 feels like a stock 335 under 2500 RPM's IMO. This tune is deceivingly fast, at first I was like "that's it?", but the speed increases on the speedo insanely fast! I wish there was more aggressive torque on the lowend, it feels too smooth for me. I'm coming from a Stage 2 Cobb STi which you knew you were going fast in. Overall it's a great tune for daily driving and when you wanna play, she's a monster! BTW my car is pre- 29.2/DME81 and Auto. *Sorry for any grammer errors*

Terry has the ability to develop tunes with plenty of low end grunt too. You will be able to take off in 2nd gear and still run in the 12's no problem. On 91 octane.

Raced a friend today like 20 times. I have SSTT +afe and he has JB3 and all stock.
We went from stop and go and rolling races. EVERYDAM TIME, the JB3 car pulls like a different car. My car seemed so dam slow compare to his car and running next to his car. We both have 335xi coupes and SSTT is alot more easier to install and etc but i def. need to check out this JB3 when PNP is back in stock. Driving the car back to back is like driving two totally different cars. JB3 makes the 335 a DIFFERENT car. First experience with JB3 and i was blown away.

I just drove the car with the new map in 44 degree weather and it is sooo fast and powerful. With this cool air accelerating is addictive. I LOVE this tune!
