Purchased my 71 Datsun 510 2 dr with independent rear suspension in 77 @ 65K miles and sold it in 91 @ 225K miles (14 yrs).
Purchased my 07 Z4MR in Mar 10 @ 12k miles and plan to keep it for the duration....currently @ 67K miles. Purchased our 14 Subaru Outback in May 14 new and plan to keep it for the duration....currently @ 63K miles. The only reason it would be sold is if it was replaced with an 08 Lotus Exige. We have NO car payments since mid-17 for the first time in our lives.

2002 Camry that we bought for my wife. Our youngest has been driving it as her school car for the last several of years now.
We bought is shortly before my wife started working from home and going on 18 years old it's not even broken in yet (still has less than 100K miles).

I am a BMW driver for 45 years. I bought this car in 1987, a 1983 320is (e21) the forgotten BMW. It's worth more to me, well you know the story, so I have kept her for 33 years. She's a keeper. A very reliable car.

Coming up on 11 years with the Exige, and actually considering selling it lately.

I can't say much about owning a car for a long time but my shortest length was 3 months.

Bought a 2000 Nissan Maxima cpo used with 14k miles. Still have it 20 years later. My son is now driving it with 250k miles. Still runs good, and it dose not burn any oil between changes. The clear coat is pealing. I'll Keep it till it dies.
2009 335i 102k miles keeping it. 2003 ML 350 137k miles keeping it. 3 cars and no payment is the way to go. |

I bought my miata in 2010. I doubt I will actually sell it.
All my other cars Ive had for 4-6 years; And have only sold them when others have come up to me and made an offer or someone asked about a price and accepted what I had. Never needed a change but it has just come my way |

21 years and 28+ years
I owned a Honda Prelude from 1997 - 2018. If I had replaced the engine, I could have easily kept it running another 10+ years. I still have a 1992 (bought in '91) Ford Explorer Sport 4X4 with a 5-speed manual. I would like to fully restore it, but I just don't have the space. |

my 1988 325is....i have owned it since 2002, and thought i would never sell as i have spent an m2c worth into modifying. However i have only driven it 1x in the last year, and maybe 5x in the last 3 years, so starting to prepare myself mentally to sell the car in the coming year.

Im 5'11" ish. Feel like I would be fine, as I tend to sit closer to the wheel and pedals than most. It can get pretty cold here in the winter, but overall not too much rain or anything. I want a fun daily, I would be way too bored with a Civic or something. It's gotta be fun. |
