Definitely have some money set aside for the transmission. Even with solenoids, new seals, and fresh fluid....there is no guarantee that it's going to hold 500hp/lots of tq...without slipping.
My car is stage 2+ and probably making close to 400hp.....and even with solenoids, seals, and fresh fluid....in the higher gears it wants to slip some times. And all it takes is slight slippage....and it puts the transmission in limp mode, and locks it in a gear of it's choosing.......it stinks. |

The options are pretty limited. You can get a stock rebuilt done ($2,500+$3,000).....but that doesn't guarantee it's going to hold 500hp. There are a couple guys out there that are putting high performance clutches in them.....but I've been quoted $4,000+ for a rebuild with those.....but they say they are good to 800+ hp.
The xHP transmission flash is supposed to help with shifts, but not sure if it really helps with them holding more power. Long story short.....options are limited, and expensive. Hopefully someone else will chime in with more info. |

my buddy runs around at about 600whp on his auto trans. seems to be fine so far.
get a replacement transmission if it's slipping that bad. look into nizpro(billet basket, shaft etc!) or precision racewerks |

Yes....some transmissions seem to hold big power ...some do not. That's why I say have some money set aside if you need it..... hopefully you don't. Those ZF 6HP21 transmissions are rated at 400ft/lbs of torque ...how much is a 600hp N54 putting out ....600+ ft/lbs? Last edited by iqraceworks; 02-20-2020 at 11:10 AM.. |

Here is a clutch upgrade for my DCT https://www.kmdtuning.com/Dodson-Mot...roduct_id=6853
$4700 just for the clutch's. I have seen lots of Auto's holding near 600hp without issues. Just depends on how the car has been maintained and driven.
