Anyone who knows about leasing knows you put NOTHING down (just inception fees) so no my dad put zero down about 1700 due at signing...

the man above seems to have gotten hosed on the 4runner deal.... I love the 4runner... but for 700+ monthly lease payment you could be riding around a gx470

Wow, that's a GREAT car! I'm loving all of the Robispec parts! LOL at people who doubt the engine. The 4G63 left a big shoe to be filled and this one is doing a hell of a job. I've been in my friend's X several times and it's a lot more daily driver friendly than my '05 VIII.

Mercury evo... while it's a cool car that you have I'm not understanding the reasoning behind the post on a BMW forum....

realistically speaking... do you think even if someone wanted to get out of their e90 or e92...... that they would want to spend that SAME ammount of money on a boy racer (and I mean that in the best light as possible.... just as a descriptive comment based on 90% of the people who drive them) car....

and say there is someone out there that DOES want to do that, how would that solve your $$$ problem if you'll be owing the same money on a different car...

Good luck with the sale... I'm not trying to be a prick...just maybe this has taught you a lesson in not living beyond your means....

I put NOTHING down. Your dad didnt put NOTHING down because he still paid 1700$. I PUT NOTHING meaning NOTHING except my signature. And my truck was 43k MSRP and with 15k a year, it came to just over 700$. Maybe your dad got an older model, Maybe you guys have less TAX then us? (8.63% in NY) IDK. I didnt get HOSED though. No vehicle that msrp's over 40k goes for under 700$ a month lease when Not a dollar is put down and you get 15k a year.

1. Calling my car a "boy racer" is very arrogant and shows your lack of education about the car. I mean that was lightly as possible. The Evo X and the ones before that are very capable machines that outperform MOST cars twice their price. And for little $ invested, they can make over 400hp and Beat most things 3 times the price or more. Yes unfortunately alot of younger people buy these cars, trash them, crash them, etc... But dont assume that everyone who owns one is into "boy racing". 90% is a VERY generous assumption but if you check this thread http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthr...&highlight=age
then you'll see that the age group for evo's is wide spread. Some are under 20, some are 40+. The question I have is why you think that 3 series BMW's are SOOOO exclusive that me offering my evoX for a trade is shooting high or something. You seem to think that the entry level 3 series is above my car persay? I'm confused as to that. While the cars are 2 different beats, the BMW is more luxurious and the price is according to that. But the evoX will outperform the BMW and takes better to mods. Obviously I know the bmw with exhaust, downpipe and reflash can make close to or above 400whp but I'm speaking of serious modifications. After that the EVO X can just keep going. And thats a 4 cyl single turbo vs. a 6cyl twin turbo.

2. If you read my earlier post, my fiance' cannot comfortable drive my evo x. We're looking to get rid of her TSX, keep our truck and then have 1 other car. If it were a 335, that would work fine because she can drive that.

3. Yea I'm a little sore that I got myself this deep in payments and will never do it again, yes.

-Steve

Top Gear season 5, I forget which episode, had the Evo keeping up with the Lambo Murcielago around their test track. I think they should have used a Ferrari though because Lambos are really only for rich posers. Either way, the Evo kept up with it.

That was an EVO VIII FQ400. They don't have those in the states, but I could be wrong. That's a hot ass car though.

To the OP, GL w/ the sale/trade. It's definitely a nice car. Though I'm partial to the styling of the older Evos myself.

yes your right, but thats 400 crank HP and you can make an 06 evo have that power for under 1000$ easily

As far as the Lexus.. using your logic that my dad paid $1700 down lets say he paid zero down and they included that money into the lease 1700/36 = about 47 bucks per month...

Thus his 630/month would equal to 677 per month... and granted that was for 12k miles per year (and you have 15k) we'll add another 23 dollars per month to make it an even 700/month. But WAIT... he's would STILL be paying LESS than what you pay for a car that MSRP'd at 51k which is is 8 THOUSAND more than yours.

Dude... trust me... I know my way about leasing.... and I dont mean to rub it in.... but you got HOSED... Not being a prick here... and even willing to help you with your next lease (I'll even come and help you negotiate) , cuz I hate it when people overpay on their leases.

Mercury I'm more than farmiliar witht he raw power and handling capabilities of the old and now new evo.... you know what I meant when I said "boy racer" (hell I even explained myself not to get misunderstood) So once again... car is a monster.... but it's very raw and because of it's price attractive to younger guys.... hence it's reputation as a boy racer... do older guys drive them??... I'm sure there are some... most of these cars are driven by teenagers and very young adults....

No one in their right might cross shops a 335i/xi vs the Evo.... is the 335 SOOOOO exclusive? Not at all... BMW sells more 3 series cars in the US than audi does ALL of their cars.... but no one in their right mind goes to shop for the BMW then walks over to the Mitsubishi dealership because they are considering the Evo. That is why you'll have a very hard time finding someone here that would want to swap their BMW with the evo...

If that someone wanted the power of an evo and had the money for a BMW they'd be driving an elise or a vette... but they ARENT they're driving the BMW because they like the blend of luxury and performance..

Also why not get rid of the most expensive payment (the EVO) if money is tight and you'll be cutting down to 2 cars from 3. (706$ a month Vs. 472$) Why not SELL the EVO outright.. (prepare to take a huge hit on the mods though) and lease a car like a MazdaSpeed6/Mazdaspeed3? (Just a suggestion)...untill your finances are in order....

Also If you sell the EVO you can get some equity out of it which might help you out as well....

Whatever you do... good luck to you... but try on the JDM forums for a trade... you might have better luck with the Evo...

the 335 and evo are matched on performance until modding (basically)..the bmw is just more luxury and way better daily driver. the evo is a fun car that you would enjoy more or less at my age of 19 because it is cloth and basic interior. it all comes down to if you want a luxury interior or basic interior and if you would mod it to hell..

I just hope evo doesnt think I'm bashing those type of cars...

In 1998 when I was 18... I was driving around in a modded 5.0 Mustang... that was raw power back in the day...

LOL, whats funny is I'm The guy people bring to buy cars because I get cars cheaper then ANYONE else but I guess I need to continue explaining a few things so heres goes.

I did a 36 month lease, it was a higher money factor then 39 OR 42. I wanted 36 MAX, not any more.

I also got a truck with a 43k MSRP. Your dads truck is 47k MSRP and IMO I think the 4 runner is nicer. I honestly do not like the GX470, I wanted a limited V8 4 runner with navi and I found the EXACT truck I wanted. Something else is being left out of your Dads lease. Either it was a demo, had 100+ miles on it, or he put down more then your saying. If he genuinely did pay what your saying, then he got a GREAT DEAL. I guess his lease is a 36 month lease? It amazes me he's only paying 24k to have a 50k truck for 3 years. I've leased a bunch of cars like:

2006 g35 coupe, 6spd, sport, nav,RAS -41k MSRP, (rolled in 2k of neg equity) got 18k a year-609$ a month

2006 g35x, premium package-36k MSRP, rolled in 1600$ neg equity, added a spoiler for 700$, 15k a year-439$ a month

2005 IS300, 5spd, 33k msrp, 15k a year, 2800$ down-392$ a month

2008 G37 coupe-everything but Nav, 40k msrp- 2700 down, 472$ a month

I know what i'm doing leasing and Maybe your dad had better credit then me and I got a higher MF or whatever, but I def didnt get HOSED

to answer your other question, I'm TRYING to get rid of the EVO obviously, I'm trying to sell it but I'm not taking a hit, at least not right now. but trading it and getting rid of TSX works as well, we dont want to keep the TSX.

Cute mustang too, but just wondering, why is your dads GX lease and your mustang and you questioning what I'm doing in this thread???

I cant believe you think no one cross shops a 335 with an evo X. I almost got a 335i before I got the evo x and i decided NOT to get it. I wanted more of a performance oriented car. TONS of people cross shop the 135i as well.

I was just giving examples re my experiences relating to your 4runner lease.... (hence I mentioned dads GX) I really dont want to get into a 2 hour typing bout mentioning every detail of the leases... no it wasnt a demo...not it didnt have any miles...

anyway.... I just mentioned the mustang because when I was 18 thats the car I had....

I'm not questioning what you're doing... you DID it already by posting here... I cant reverse that... I questioned the reasoning behind it and suggested trying JDM boards....

If you were really in this much of a financial crises a BMW 335i is not the answer.
