I'm in Cali too, what you want to do then is get a valved exhaust setup like I did - straight piped when open, "almost" stock sound when closed. I went with the Bomiz because it's a full exhaust setup unlike the one sided cat Valvetronic. Also the new Turner valved exhaust setup looks cool.

The video you posted by the way is BB's single turbo setup so it's going to sound different than a stock N54, but I like the idea of adding a vibrant resonator on the midpipes, always though about doing that.

The sound can be altered, otherwise Maserati would sound like any other US V8... when you look at its engine, you may spot various Helm-Holtz resonators at its intake system which modifies/cancels unwanted frequencies... the same applies to the exhaust pipes where you may change the material (diameter, thickness), number and style of mufflers or to add these smart "empty tubes/chambers"...
Pls note that all this applies to a limited range of rmp, hence it is mostly used to reduce the unwanted frequencies instead of "create" a F1 sound... yes, I agree that in the end to get a sound of F1 V12 engine out of R6 TT is not gonna happen unless you put in a sound generator (speaker in a chamber)...

Pics
- Helmholtz resonator used to quiet Mx-5 exhaust, also search for Corsa mufflers
- intake chambers to alter the sound or to increase the overall volume of air (as a secondary effect/benefit, to reduce the pulses in the system at various rpm)

Similar to our engine V6 TT with Helmholtz resonators in place or them acting as cutouts, watch the video in the link - https://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/produ...ffler/db/19876

Lmao. 335s don't have intake silencers. Do your research and learn a thing or two.

I love the Turner valved exhaust on the 335i when it's paired with high flow downpipes.

Open yes, closed no. That's the point of a valved exhaust, when the police cruise by you flip the switch

Also let me help you out because there are new guys who post on here on the daily - A) it's not "your page", it's a public information forum to help everyone. B) : the site didn't add this emoji for nothing. Doing your due diligence and searching before you ask vague questions is how you will learn the most, and then be able to help others. It's how I learned about this platform. Granted the question about intake silencers is not something I've come across and to me vague.

The funny part of all this is that N54's do have a silencer, its just located on the chargepipe. People are too quick to be dicks.

I had no idea man and here i am letting someone making me think im dumb lol thankyou have you tried removing it? Its supposed to give better throttle response and sound... or wait! Would simply upgrading the chargepipe with any aftermarket one be the solution to removing the silencer

i don't know if there is break-in time for catless downpipes, but first days of being catless downpipes felt was really high pitched and loud exhaust sounds, but it became quieter next days, or i just became used to, anyway it was really cool

Silly questions in run on sentences are going to get silly answers. Spend some time searching... we all did.

Old, but literally in the stickies: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10687

VRSF and ATM have newer exhaust systems too.

Videos do no justice, and if you have taken a philosophy class before , you get the best results from starting fresh and bouncing off ideas to steer where you want to get to, instead of looking at something someone else did. This is of course my opinion and philosophy and well i respect yours. But thanks yea i already checked that out before this.
