My car is 7/2006 and xHP works just fine on Stg 2... the only thing I could go on without is the rev matching feature which I have found silly... and also displaying what gear you are in D mode is a bit distracting, for me it would make more sense in S only (and Man of course).
Besides this it works flawlessly, very happy with the overall behavior...

I was thinking about going to stage 2 just to get rid of that.....but it sounds like stage 2 does it also. Wish xHP would put at option in the app to turn that rev matching on and off. |

Change the fluid, put a new pan/filter on, and replace the 4 sleeve seals and 1 double D seals under the valve body. Changing out the shift solenoids isn't a bad idea either......wish I would have done mine, I need to replace mine.

if you target say 550nm torque actual on the log, during the shift it can drop down to 200-250nm actual nothing in the xhp tune can be 'tweaked' to change that, the only settings you can change that xhp has in the custom module would technically make it worse but supposedly shift faster(not my experience), with the torque reduction tables. xhp says pulling more power between shifts will shift quicker.

I thought I could feel the power being reduced right before/after shifts.......guess it wasn't just in my mind.
Any way to force the DME to keep the throttle open and not pull timing between shifts? Custom tune? |

Lowering Torque reduction can increase load on the clutches, as more torque has to be maintained between shifts. I'd be interested to know what the Sutphin tune does in this regard. Unfortunately mine is 01/07 so no Sutphin tunes available. Running XHP stage 3 with custom module. Can't see any downsides and I've had it well over a year. Did the oil, filter, pan and Mechatronic Sleeves. |

As far as mine. It holds full torque and timing through the shift 1-4 and pulls 3 degrees for the 4-5 due to the small weak clutch on that gear Not all of his tunes will do that. It will depend on your power level or custom tune request. My car is almost stock so it gets away with it.

Depends on a large extent to the condition of your clutches, Sleeves and Solenoids though. |

If I recall correctly too much torque is what kills the automatic transmissions. My car isn't stock, its Stage 1 at the moment and I intend to go Stage 1+ which should pull about 600nm. The ZF6 is a good transmission but whatever you do its not a DCT Can you post a video with a Vbox/Draggy to show a comparison of 0-60 or 100-200k times with Sutphin tune vs Stage 3 flash? |

Nothing on my tune is reducing life, I'd be much more concerned with wear on how xhp shifts than how mine does now. Xhp is violent, mine is just smooth. If anything was going to break with this tune. It would be my car. 170k miles and never been serviced. I'm quite sure this fluid is soot black. Also worth noting. If you don't want to run this tune, don't. I have no need to sell you the tune. I'm telling you it'll make your car better. If you don't want it to be better or like the way it is. Leave it alone, doesn't make a difference to me.

Never serviced 170k??? Face-palm, Boggles the mind how someone who hasn't serviced his car is talking about custom TCU tunes. Haha! I like to feel the shifts, I don't like slush boxes. According to the website, Sutphin tune needs that "Jink" XHP to work, lol It's not that I don't want to run the Sutphin tune, I can't because his website clearly states he cannot tune pre 03/07 cars. On a serious note, no need to be a hater or a fanatic. |

Yes, 170k no service. Itll get it this year. Also on original turbos that are nearly dead. Needs a bit of work, bought for cheap a year and 30k miles ago. Since been totaled and fixed. Runs mid 11s almost stock, works for me. You have to update your TCU to the newer version, then you can run the Sutphin tune or the newest XHP update. From people who post on here, it sounds like it costs a few hundred dollars and coding with ista/inpa.

You mean replace the TCU itself? I'd rather spend the money on intercooler and downpipes, plus RBT-Tuning already confirmed V3 maps are being developed for the older pre 3/07 TCU |

And yes you replace the trans computer with the newer version then you can flash the newer 'larger' files. Which is apparently the issue. The old cars use one that has half the capacity. At least what I understand. I have an 09 haven't dealt with it myself. Guess it's an even better case for sutphin seeing as how his tune was able to fix what is clearly a mechanical issue with a tune while making it faster. Damn.

To be honest, I couldn't care less if my car is 0.2 secs slower than another, its not a drag car. I got the car because of its tunability and the fact that I like straight six engines and its fun. If I wanted a drag car, I wouldn't have got a rear wheel drive car. |
