This.

If one device on the BSD line has failed, it can affect the whole line in such a way that the ECU can't properly determine the culprit, and you get an error code for a part which hasn't actually failed.

For example, if you unplug the IBS and suddenly your water pump code clears permanently, but you get the IBS code (obviously, because it's unplugged), you know that it was a faulty IBS that's triggering the water pump code.

So if that's the case, do I replace the ibs cable again? As I have done so(replaced cable brand new oem from fcp euro and the actual ibs on the positive terminal but that was a used part from eBay, should be ok though! ) because the water pump does still work and not overheat! Thanks for any input!

I tried to unplug but a different ibs code came up lol (I did unplug the ibs from positive terminal to wires going in car) I'm going to try to reconnect that one and unplug the one on power distribution block and get bAck! (I think I unplugged the wrong part of ibs haha!

If it does clear then what is the culprit? Do the water pump again? It does work

If you unplug the IBS, and the water pump codes can be cleared and stay away, then the IBS is the culprit and should be replaced.

...at least, that's my understanding.

I did do my oil level sensor a while back brand new oem as well. Reads fine so Should be no issues there. Could possibly be alternator but car seems to start fine. Some days better than others but wouldn't it not start at all if it were bad alternator? Anything helps please guys and girls!

With the IBS unplugged, did you clear the codes to see which ones came back straight away? If you get the same result, that would suggest that the IBS is fine.

The car would still start with a bad alternator, until the battery goes flat. Try unplugging the alternator next, and clear then read codes...

When I did unplug ibs and cleared codes, immediately I got just one ibs code that was there for a while, but after about 15-20 minutes of driving another ibs code came up and the water pump codes followed also with a power management code!

What were the codes? Particularly the power management one?

I'm not sure, but the power management code may be related to a bad alternator...

I bought a new ibs (hella) and the connectors, gonna install it this week and clear codes and give it a go, if still have the codes I'm assuming the alternator maybe be the issue? To test I can just unplug the alternator wire and clear codes? (Wire directly plugged into alternator) right?

You're throwing parts at it without diagnosing fully. Good luck.

These are the codes I'm having. Do you think it's alternator related? New IBS, New water pump, new oil level sensor. New battery Also

I would check battery voltage when the engine is running. Also what type and capacity is the battery? Was it coded and registered correctly when fitted?

You can change the regulator, its much cheaper and easier than the alternator.

Ok! Might have to give that a try. I got new IBS and still have the water pump codes and a power management so I'm assuming it's the alternator! Should I try the regulator first or just replace the whole unit? Think I almost got it!!!
