I think blacklines would look better.

damn it. I cant decide what to get now. This thread made me think if i should just smoke my tail lights or get the blackline. I'm a newb when it comes to modding car and I've been looking for the smoke tint for my tail lights and I could not find one. Where did you get yours? Just weighing my options here incase i decided to get it smoked. Thanks

Blacklines

ARE TOO PLAYED OUT! EITHER YOU GET BLACKLINES AND SMOKE THEM OR DON'T GET THEM AT ALL! REGULAR BLACKLINES ARE JUST "NOT MY CUP OF TEA"

I'm not saying your opinions are not valuable, I'm just saying that his opinion is what matters at the end. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and if he likes them then there is no reason why he should be upset over his decision to smoke his tails by the comments here. He will most likely get more compliments than disdain in the long run while saving money. I really don't think they look bad. If anything different since the blacklines seem to be the norm in the e9x world.

However, the blacklines smoked in the above posted pic does look really good.

Here are some more Tinted Blackline Pic's since you guys have taken such a liking to them...

I am going to be doing a new Photo-shoot soon with a bunch of new mods and I re-did my Tail-light tint so it is more glossy now...

So look out for that, If you want to see what they look like glossy, and professionally done.

P.S. I like your OEM Tail-lights tinted... Looks good...

Yes, I figured it would looker cleaner that way...

Most people just tint the whole light but there are two reasons why I didn't

1. When you tint over white it turns an orang-ish color (Unless you tint it completely paint Black) and I don't think that looks very good.

2. If you were going to tint the whole thing Black to start off with, why would you need Blackines, (Since everything is going to be black anyways)

When you get them tinted you do it in levels from 1-10

1= Pretty much a Normal Blackline Tint
10= Putting Black Paint over your Light

I went with 6 or 7 I think...

As regards to both of your posts...

I have not been pulled over yet (Knock on wood) for the tail-lights and I think it is because;

1. I still have my blinker and reverse light showing
2. I keep my Angel Eye / Parking Lights on (So Red is always shining through)
3. I don't think 6 or 7 tint is too dark in the first place. (Especially if you are going to match it with a black car.)

Hope some of this Info helps in your decission to tint your tail-lights...

You wont regret it! Trust me!

P.S. If you do end up getting Blacklines to tint them, Keep your OEM ones, because if you ever get pulled over you wont have to waste the money; tinting the lights - getting the tint taken off the lights - paying the fix it ticket - and putting the tint back on, if you decide to...

If you keep your OEM's you can just through those on get the ticket signed off, and then put the Blacklines back On.

Your a jerk...

I didn't have the Extra $10,000 to spend on a car...

I regret the decision everyday...

But Hey! Thats life!

The reason why my rear looks like that is because some 16 year old high school girl ran into the back of my car, and the damage was so bad I was going to need a new bumper anyway, I figured why not get a 335i bumper and put and exhaust kit on it.

I wanted to get quads, but the guy doing my exhaust said I would lose a lot of the noise if I had two more pipes...

So I just left it as a dual Pipe set up...

That a good enough reason for you?

Now that you have made me even more depressed for not having a 335i?

Whoah whoah, 1-10 tint. So you're saying you didnt use the precut tint you get from ebay and stuff? I thought the tint is just like the ones you get for your window and go by percentage on the darkness. Hmm im really new to this but this really opened up my eyes. I guess you get the tint on taillights from tinting place. Hmmm i guess i need more info before i really get this.

What is the obsession with blacking out? It's not the 90s. Every time I see someone mention it I have to ask if they have a Camero or a 5.0 Mustang in the garage too.
