I'm using a Scosche CD Mount holder...magnetic and works great. I stream via bluetooth so no need for the CD player access.

I have the Kuda that mounts on top of the dash and use it for a Garmin GPS. Kuda also makes a version that mounts to the passenger side of the console, down lower than the dash-top one I have (probably better for a phone). I don't really use my phone in the car, other than for Bluetooth calls (so it can stay in my pocket). I use the GPS for nav.
Here is the link to Kuda: http://www2.kudausa.com/kuda_mount_a...-11-3-38.html# |

I have an iOttie mount that fits right on the plastic air vent on the dash.

I use this and love it. No need for magnets and steel stickers and I can transfer it to any car. It's actually very well made

I tried wrapping the trim - several times - but could never get the inside corners right and not shrink and pull away. Then I painted it the dark red and liked it but there were some imperfections in the clear coat that bothered me. Right now I have the brushed aluminum trim on and like that as well. I may go ahead and have the painted set done professionally one day. As it is I have three sets of trim - the original wood grain set, the painted set, and the aluminum. |

The only problem with this universal style of holder is that everyone else struggles with it, tho it makes sense to me. 1 hand to stretch it, put phone in with other hand, and voila. Or 1-hand but using all your fingers. |

For those who want better access to see their phone, this one works well for a center mount: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087CXG4C7...ing=UTF8&psc=1 It will get a little in the way of iDrive and obscure the HVAC screen, but it's a decent solution that integrates nicely with the DSC/lock/hazard light trim. Personally I think the most ideal solution would be something mounted to the left of the steering wheel near the light switch. The hard part would be running cabling to it for charging or aux for those without Bluetooth, but it could be done. I haven't found a permanent mount though. Those vent clip ones are around but I wasn't impressed with them. They tended to fall off. |

I use a phone cover which has the metal plate built in (and also a stand for the phone).
In the car I almost never have to see the phone (because bluetooth + nav pro) so usually the phone is in the middle compartment. However if I do need to see the phone, it's very simple, I have the magnetic phone holder, which also comes in M colors. It's pretty good (look on any webshop for "magnetic vent mount bmw"). I don't like using it much though, don't really need it and it ruins the clean look. (also this is my first post, hi!) Found a picture: Last edited by Dx11; 11-05-2020 at 02:33 PM.. |

Good timing. My wife's been asking if there are mounts for phones that have this roundy/stand thing that is all the rage these days. My regular mount is for a flat back phone.

Yes that exact case with the metal in the middle and the stand around it, is perfect for this car mount. And you can find them for like €5 in all black or €10 in BMW colors.

I got a cd mount phone holder since no one uses CD's anymore. They make a magnetic one and a normal one. They also have vent mounts

Mounts? Don’t like ‘em. Too hard to text the homies back in real time.
Most days I just hold my phone in my right hand and then just let go of the wheel and reach across with my left hand to shift. It’s a bit awkward but you get used to it.
