I've posted a ODB reader install elsewhere on this forum. It is a dashdyno from Auterra (check out their site) and fits nicely in the (quite) modified ashtray. It comes with a SD card memory for data logging, which can be used with the also supplied PC software. I haven't used the PC software yet, but am more then pleased with this OBD reader.
If anyone plans to buy this let me know, as the BMW (E92) ECU is acting strange. The guys at Auterra have helped me out with new software, but it hasn't been well documented.
PS the amount of data you can read from the BMW OBD is (very) limited. But i do have coolant temp (wich was the very reason why i wanted an OBD reader), boost pressure, and air temp after intercooler. Then some others which are not very usefull. But the dashdyno has many other interesting, and the red backlightning of the keys comes near to the BMW styling.

No news im afraid, we eventually backed out of the purchase of the first device.

This new bluetooth device states that it works with all OBD2 vehicles, but if the not so cheap Snap-On scanner cant access the new ECU's, im a little doubtfull about this one too, but what the hell... ordered.

At checkout, it states dispatch within 3 days and delivery upto 14 days after that, so we could be in for a little wait...

I use dealextreme all the time - sometimes you do have to wait a while but most of the time - the goods are with you within a week.
