Being a moronic 21 year old.
In case it wasn't clear in my other post, I wasn't complaining, just sharing my experience (And partially responding to "They don't handcuff white people") It's kind of a stupid 45 zone - it's a 4 lane divided highway out of town. Probably not what you're picturing. |

Your implication seemed pretty clear and inflammatory.

The officer never mentioned any traffic violations. The first thing they said to me was that they pulled me over because of my plates. |

You must not know what a "Karen" is. It's a very specific type of person. It would only be "inflammatory" if you are part of that crowd. If that's the case, there's no point in even discussing it because "Karens" are narrow-minded, entitled, racist people by definition who have a fundamental lack of understanding what anyone else is saying.

It's quite simple. LEOs are required to quickly profile a person or situation. It's a life or death issue. Karen's and Kyle's have been treated differently for decades by society and even LEOs. They are able to get away with more stuff. There are enough people that are finally standing up to that. Ask virtually any minority (Black, Latino, Asian, etc) and they will absolutely tell you that there is a double standard.
That said, not every white is a Karen. Not every LEO is racist. Not every Asian is law abiding. It is unfortunate that people don't understand the nuances of behaviors or even statements. So they take statements like mine and twist them to fit their agenda. |

I probably am since you said so and all. The irony of your accusatory posts is quite amusing. Too bad you can’t see it.

wrong registration plates on the X5 happened to me also. Dealer fitted them and let me drive away. I noticed the next day and called the dealer asking if Mr Magoo worked for them. Dealer couldn't really care less.
You can be damn sure that my insurance company wouldn't have paid out had there been an accident, any excuse! |

So you didn't start mouthing off, cursing, and using your cell phone to video the entire thing? No wonder they let you go without any harm. SMH.

So......long time ago (1984), I was pulled over doing 93...in a 35 zone. I was 20 at the time. I was in college, on a date, driving a Camaro, coming home from the bar, and she was hot as hell....asked me to show her "what this car can do". Yeah, the lower "brain" took over. Fortunately, I never drank when I drove. This particular stretch of road was a huge, 3 lane in each direction straight and it was around midnight - there was no one else on the road. I floored it. Even had the original Escort radar detector...which of course sounded off instantly at said 93 mph to which I thought "Oh holy crap". I looked to my left and sure enough, there were two police cars camped out. By the time they had their lights on and giving chase, they were far behind me. However, somewhat panicked, I decided to take my foot off the accelerator, and came up on a restaurant that had burned down a few months ago so I pulled in behind the decrepit building, hoping they would drive past. Of course, the police had seen my tail lights brake, then turn off the road. Man - they came in, jumped out, guns pointed at me. One of the first questions they asked me was, "Why did you pull in behind this building?!!?!" to which I replied honestly - "I was hoping you wouldn't see me and drive past". Long story short - somehow, miraculously, I managed to talk them out of cuffing and arresting me, and taking me in. I explained that I was a real dumbass, and was trying to impress the girl in the passenger seat. Of course, every sentence was "Yes sir" "No sir". They were actually smiling towards the end of the encounter, and one officer told me while looking at the girl "Hope it ends up being worth it". They did issue me a ticket for doing 93 in a 35 zone, and told me that would be a mandatory court appearance and wished me luck. I went to court, had to pay a huge fine, which ended up being my entire summer savings, and learned the hard way to never trust any other organ to do my thinking for me. Yes - I am white, and this was in Greensboro, N.C. I think back to how stupid and lucky I was. Today - I would not expect the same treatment. |

I had a similar mistake happen, except I never got pulled over. I sold my first car, and had to transfer everything over to my next vehicle. DMV sent me new registration, etc, for the plates to transfer to the new vehicle. On paper everything matched.
Fast forward a year, that car gets hit and totaled, and brought to an impound lot. I get a call a day later stating something is wrong and asking if I messed with the plates or the VIN. Apparently DMV sent me paperwork, but in their system the plates still came up as the old vehicle description. How I drove around for a year without anything happening is beyond me. If someone ran my plate it would've come up with a different description and thought to be stolen. I guess this is what happens when you have POS lazy government employees who don't give a shit doing data entry. |
