I think the Mustang is definitely the ugliest of the group. It's such a played out design, I mean jeeez how many real 67 stangs do you see on the road these days. I still see a tooooooon of them.
The Camaro fails too. In trying to make it retro, they took it way to far. The retro thing is played out. They're 10 years to late for the prom. I saw a Hennesey Challenger at Krispy Kreme. It had a SC, wheels and a drop. Sounded and looked mean. Interior fails. Looked like my last rental car Neon |

You can't be a fanboi when the topic is subjective. Fanboi is someone who is still loyal to something no matter how craptastic it is based on FACT. I.E. the fastest Honda is a better performer than the fastest BMW... THAT is a fanboi.

It is only applied when obviously defeat is present however there is still denial of it because of a devotion to a particular thing regardless if it sucks or not... Example: Civic Si 197hp G8 GT 361hp... Fanboy: The civic is a better performer than the G8 GT because domestics suck. There you are, it is obvious that the compared topic issss PERFORMANCE. However the civic though clearly outperformed is still defended and something OFF topic is thrown in its defense (domestics suck, that is why the SI is better when clearly the topic isnt DOMESTIC vs. IMPORT it is PERFORMANCE). I win. kthxbai |

The Challenger definitely retains more of the 70's retro look... whereas the Camaro and 'stang look more "updated." It must have a huge engine bay... lots of room for lots of add-ons. Great for the 1/4 mile. Too bad it doesn't look like it'll make a nice road track car...

To be fair, you're in Washington state, where like California, a lot of older cars are running around as daily drivers. Most of the country doesn't have that luxury. For example, here in Maryland, you might see a pre-Fox mustang once every two years on the road. You have to go to shows to see anything over 25 years old for the most part. Every time I go back to western Washington state, it's like a car show, where the roads are filled with stuff that simply doesn't exist anymore in the rest of the country. As for the new ponycars, I love all of them. I was around for the original musclecars when I was a little kid, then drove a lot of them back when they were simply cheap, 10 year old cars. To see them reborn in modern form makes me happy. Yeah, they aren't as refined as the European offerings, but they really aren't supposed to be, and I think they would lose a bit of emotional currency if they were. When I think of musclecars and pony cars, I think of a lot of power in a cheap package. I don't want dash stroking or micron levels of fit, overengineered luxury cars. Of the three of them, my favorite is still the Mustang. It's the least retro and most evolutionary of all of them, as if the original Mustang just continued to evolve over the decades, ignoring the Pinto II and square Foxs. The Camaro could be great, if they ever get it to the public, with the best engine and suspension of the bunch. The Challenger looks like a Chip Foose modified original, more retro than the others, but it has great road presence. I'd love to have one of each in the driveway, as well as one each of the original '69-70 cars in SCCA Trans Am guise.
