The rear, I think is ever so slightly wider. Its not that important.

I'm surprised that Harold from HP Autowerkes hasn't chimed in yet.
He was very happy with his. If you go to the realoem page, you will find that you need a handfull of parts but it does and will fit as long as you ordered everything needed. I also confirmed it with Evan at Tischer since I was thinking about doing this. The only reason why I didn't was due to the Performance brace that I picked up. I probably would have gone this direction otherwise.

If you could start at ground zero for a design then the M3 brace is what you want. It is a triangle in that ties in the L shape of the firewall and short as well. Orb |

I got some more interesting stuff to come. I have been busy correcting the KW v3 with yet another set of new spring and modified camber plate. The KW camber plates are very well design and have 7300 PSI axial load limit spherical bearing. The design also uses a separate thrust bearings which are noise resistance. The KW camber plate stack height was off a lot so after testing the isolator. I recalculated the proper nominal stack height that accounts for the isolator deflection. I also reclaimed 5 mm of suspension travel that was lost. This was all so important to getting the right ride height and spring preload. These plates have 0.7 degrees of addition caster built in so I will be running 7.9 degrees caster.
A few pictures of the 2nd iteration of the camber plate modifications. I haven’t put the studs in yet as I just picked them up. I post more in another thread when I finished testing the new setup and bushings. Orb Last edited by Orb; 11-25-2011 at 01:09 PM.. |

The rubber strut top mounts need to go. The for and aft movement in these have large deflections as well and with the combination of the stock lower control arm mean huge under steer when pushed hard. I am finally on the last leg of the road getting this best to handle at the track. Orb |

Are these just for the strut bar? Are there any M3 suspension parts that are able to transfer? Thanks again. |

the chassis should be stiffer side to side and the front sohuld turn in better, I believe
also I had my bulk head covers and filters off just over the weekend and decided to check out the V mounting point for the strut towers and didn't really see an easy way to access it? There were a few silver bolts that seemed to hold the stock one onto the firewall, am I supposed to undo these to get access? That would put me underneath the front windshield

what do u guys think of this suspension upgrade:
Front control arms & Rear sub-frame parts Orb posted M3 strut bar M sport rear sway bar ST coilovers My main goal is to have better control, firmer ride (not too floaty), lesser body roll and improved handling in and out of turns. Or you can just say i wanna do 60 mph on a 35 mph turn easily with a big smile on my face

Wow this is really eye opening thread. It's amazing the weaknesses you discover once you start pushing the car beyond stock levels. I've got a 325 e90 and was planning on upgrading. I can already feel the thrust arm bushings loosening up and I'm sure the other bushings and mount will start to go soon as well.
I just hope there isn't too much difference between the e90 325 zsp and m3. --Marcelo |

Oh, so thats the side to side squishiness I feel. I didnt feel it at first, but its getting pretty pronounced now. I just thought it was tires wearing out and the lack of upgraded sways.

You need the M3 control arms, which have the bushings installed already. Lower wishbone on the M3 / 335i = control arms
