Make sure you aren't on battery power with your vista laptop. If you have it plugged in than it should avoid that problem.

So does this mean that 29.2 is laggy but v81 is not?

Finally got the firmware to load... seemed to be a power issue with the car... Did a quick drive and the car runs perfect! Maybe even a little smoother than the previous maps and firmware... Thanks for the great product Shiv!

Great Glad Dustin could help you out. For others out there, if your car battery voltage is low (the battery light comes on), there's a good chance that you wont be able to update firmware on the PROcede since it won't be getting enough voltage to do the job.

It looks like he is set to meet with a 29.2 user tomorrow. I'm confident that it's one of his top priorities to get the lagfix feature implemented in the final version of 3.1. Let's be patient

Shiv,

As I have both a flaky Vista laptop & dodgy BMW battery can I connect the procede up to a 12v battery on my desk to do the firmware update (I have an XP desktop in the office)? I assume it would just be power wire to the + and earth wire to the - pole on the battery?

Only thought of this as I have not re-installed the V3 since my HPFP was replaced last week so it's sitting on my desk.

Cheers,

S

Yep.. such a bench programmer set-up will work justs fine. You can also get a inexpensive 15v power supply from Radio Shack that plugs into the wall. This is what we use to program PROcedes in the office

Shiv,

So, according to the documentation, you suggest to leave the UT @ 80%, but I'm sure some will change this setting, so...

Assuming one is running Stage 1 non-doomsday v3.1 map on 93 octane and previously had the UT (on v3.0 9-5-08 map) set to 85-90%, would you still recommend that the UT stay @ 80% on this v3.1 map or could/should it be raised to similar level as the previous v3.0 map?

btw -- great work on v3.1; my friend says it's a nice enhancement!
